Rifle Scopes hunting scopes, any suggestions?

I am thinking about building a Remington 700 in 7mm rem mag with a thumbhole stock and.....zilch ideas for optics
what's a good rifle scope that you'd trust out to 600 yards and beyond for less than $900(I'm on a budget)

For a hunting rifle its hard to beat the Minox scopes right now. I see some great deals on them.

I run a older Leupy VX-III 4.5x14X40 with the Boone/Crockett recticle on a Remington XCR in 7mm. Rock solid optics. Only wish I had purchased the one with the illuminated recticle. Taken elk at 175 and 240 yards, and would not hesitate to reach out to 500 yards with it.

Midway has the Bushnell Elite 4200 6-24x50 mil/mil illuminated reticle on closeout for $650.

I've been using a burris fullfield 2 4-14x42 with the ballistic plex. I've tried not to like it but it just does the job. A similar vx3 would run about 400 bucks more...

I would take a look at one of the Leupold VX3 Long Range rifle scopes. You will might want something with a parallax adjustment for the longer shots. This VX3 should work well for you.

more information is needed. what is your short and long range? do you want a hunting style scope or more of a tactical scope? do you want to adjust using turrets or reticle hold overs"?
