Hunting Shooting Sticks (Bipod) Suggestions

Ive got a AR in 6.5 Grendel set up for hunting. Mostly Coyote now, will be deer and hog later on in the year. I've already got Prone Bipods I use whenever I can. I keep running into situations where a 150-300yd shots come up, but I can't go prone. I'd love a full shooting tripod, but it's a little out of my price range right now and most of the time I wouldn't have time to set it up anyways (or want to pack it in). I've got a lot of sand, rock and uneven terrain I'm dealing with.

Ive been looking at the Primos Trigger Stick tall Bipod. What sitting-standing bipods are y'all using? Any firsthand tips or suggestions?

I have used these for several years, as well. These are among the lightest, most compact, collapsible, hand-held bipods, or shooting sticks that I have found. Sometimes I use them as a front support, sometimes as a rear support, in conjunction with a tripod. I keep a set in my hunting pack, and one in my call-out gear.

The ones I use only work sitting on the ground or in a short folding chair. Or kneeling.

Mine work for sitting or kneeling. You can vary the height by adjusting the angle between the legs, and by tilting the top of the bipod forward or backward, similar to the 45* adjustment on an Atlas bipod.

If the terrain you're hunting in is really that rough, you might consider one or two walking sticks, or commercial trekking poles. Not only will they protect you and your equipment by helping you negotiate difficult terrain and preventing a fall, but you can use them as standing-length shooting sticks, as well. This is a very old and proven technique, for both hunting and combat.

the bogpod sticks are nice also, i use a set for coyote and groundhogs

I had looked at the Bogpods too. But for the price I keep getting drawn to the Trigger sticks for being adjustable.

i just use 2 broom sticks lashed together.....cut to size.....<$10.

Trekking poles also work really good as stated, just take the wrist strap and loop it over the other poles handle...boom, instant shooting bipod.......the poles will come in handy over uneven terrain, and its one less thing to lug with you.

I use the Primos Trigger Stick and I really like them for hunting. I have a Bi-pod and a Tri-pod. I have shot animals out to 400 with them and been stable enough.

FWIW, I cheaped out and tried to use them in my first few precision matches...um no. Better than nothing, but not a good solution for that.

The best I've found is the snipe pod by Kramer designs.
