Thanks MK20. I was thinking BDL also. I have an .270 ADL that’s cut very similar, but the forearm bolt hole is a little more forward on this stock. My ADL is from 1988, but I somehow inherited this stock years ago and never knew what it was. I Googled a bit, but 700’s had so many options I just gave up and joined you guys as I’ll probably be needing more input on refinishing other projects I’m finally starting as well.

Thanks jbuck88. After finding nothing and MK20 got me thinking…I remembered the Rem CDL, and it’s close but the grip pattern doesn’t match. CDL’s seemed to all have a funky outline, but the forends are close. A lot or most BDL’s had the white cap spacer too where this one doesn’t. Ruger was my next question. I did a little research earlier but didn’t find anything in the short time.

if the front action screw is at 60 degrees vs 90 it is for a tang. angle of pics makes it tough to tell. Mkii gets wider right in front of the rear action bolt, not past the trigger like this

Yes. Going back looking it doesn't look like the front action screw is canted rearward, but hard to tell.

I'm not sure how many other actions have a flat bottom and have the front action screw mount into the recoil lug.

Is it in fact flat bottom? And can you measure the distance between the action screws?

That is for a mauser 98 style action, specifically one that uses the OG Mauser bolt stop/release/ejector as well as a sliding, side mounted safety like the old Parker Hale imports from the 70s. I would bet on this being a Parker Hale mauser stock or one of those weird series of Husqvarna imports. Some of the Huskys came in under the S&W name too.

Possible Interarms mauser connection, but I think not.

My bet would be on Parker Hale mauser.
