I’ll be in Richmond on lobby day January 20th. Who’s going?

I think it will be all over before then with all the bills sent to the Governors desk ahead of the 20th. What is there to discuss with all the dems voting for it. I don't see 11 dems switching to vote on the Republican side. Assuming all Republicans vote against Northam's 8 wishes.

I’m going. I have a SJW skank lined up who believes I’m coming up for a business meeting. After I bang her I’ll tell her I’m there to support the 2A. Should be funny.

Be sure to wipe your dick clean on her bedroom drapes when done and as you explain your true mission.

Has the NRA cancelled its counter productive competing rally to attempt to attain relevance.

Im done with any hopes of optimism for that .org if they fuck this up.

It ain't 11 Dems switching sides. Its only 5 in the House OR (NOT and, but OR) 2 in the Senate.

And how do you know all the Dems are going to vote for these bills? There are clearly lots of vulnerable Dems coming from 2A Sanctuary Counties - I could list off 20 of them in the House and 10 in the Senate. Yes, these politicians are safe for the next 2 years (if you are a Delegate) and 4 (if are a Senator), but nearly all of them (except Northam) have political futures they want to protect. If this was about abortion, yes, they would all vote for it, but not gun control; they know they will loss many more votes than they will gain if they support something draconian. All of the progressives from Fairfax, Arlington and Alexandria, we can never work with them, but that is only 30% of the state; the other 23% that the Dems control are vulnerable.

If we go into this thinking there is "nothing to discuss" we have lost. There is and will be lots to discuss, most importantly how we make Virginia safer by VIOLENCE CONTROL, not GUN CONTROL. Harden schools, hire more cops, AI cameras that detect a firearm before it has been used, better treatments for lunatics, no taxes on gun safes, harsher penalties for adults that provide firearm access to minors, etc.

What's up with that last paragraph? I can get behind tax free gun purchases and maybe better "treatments" for lunatics...

but AI cameras are some shoddy tech and easily circumvented, plus expensive as fuck. And providing firearm access to minors? What exactly did you have in mind there?

AI cameras for firearm detection has gotten very good. Very good. For example, camera monitoring school parking lot sees a firearm (even a hidden one) and immediately locks building and gets cops on the way. (We have investments in this area, so I have seen first hand how good its gotten.) Expensive yes, but we can pay for it. Its a much better solution than gun control, that is for sure.

And I'm for harsher penalties for someone that lets a minor, especially a 'trench coat' minor, have unsupervised access to a firearm.

I'm strongly in the camp that if we say NO to something (NO gun control), we have to offer a better solution. This is the way to get voters behind you and make the country better. I'm sure there are hundreds of other solutions to reducing violence in this country that do not violate the Constitution. My list are some some quick thoughts.

The Dems are 55 vs 45 Rep in the VA House.

I think picking Lobby Day for this demonstration was/is a bad choice.
You will get dismissed just like the other groups there. Then the media will spin the numbers by saying that the overall number of people was up but that's because as a whole there's more people disappointed with the Trump economy/administration and so forth. The media will never say that 10,000 people showed up to protest gun control.
I hope I am wrong but I doubt it.

One of our local troopers that used to work for me got orders to go. Seems they are prepping for a big crowd. He and his buddies are on our side. I told him they better deal with any antifa/klan that show up.
Hopefully they don’t and if they do show they get the message from the rest of us that they aren’t wanted.

Let the Trooper know we are sorry for his jobs losses during the Charlottesvile debacle.

Its too bad the politicians created a situation leading to confrontation to push their political agenda without regard to the human consequences.
