Candidate Trump- Mexico will pay for the wall!!!

President Trump- Americans will pay for the wall!!! If they don’t, I will shut down the government and cost Americans more money until they pay for my wall!

Now someone has a go fund me page where people are donating money to help pay for the wall. Damn....Trump supporters continue to amaze me.

Well, the tax cuts are nice, and many things were put forth and voted down by the spineless republicans in the House and Senate. The Republicans held the line until they could get some democrats voted in to use as an excuse for their in action.

Interesting. Not clear to me yet how all his other GoFundMe efforts worked out in regard to distribution of funds ... but the guy is good at getting the word out. He’s raised real money for all sorts of things.

The people are ready to get together. I even created a fuckbook page. The dude posted an update saying GoFundMe has de-ranked the campaign.

GoFundMe removed our Trump Wall campaign from their top list. We are the top fundraiser right now and they removed it from the list. We were front and center on their homepage. Do they not want us to succeed?

Why are they suppressing us? Just like Facebook & Twitter have done, now GoFundme?

The congress decides what and where to spend. I don't see how this money could be given to the federal gov with the stipulation that it has to be spent on a wall. I've never paid taxes beyond what was required. Is there a way to earmark additional tax payments?

I didn’t know who Brian Kolfage was either. I clicked on the link downndirty provided. Dude Brian Kolfage is a Triple Amputee Military Vetran with a family. He has a public “blue” Facebook page. (I’m not on Facebook so I don’t know what that means) and he is already over half a mil without media mention. CAn you get any more AMERICAN than that? I got laid off before thanksgiving or I’d be giving. The only issue I have with this is it rubs me wrong to pay for a wall after all the things our taxes are spent. Lead would be a lot cheaper right now.

Ombudsman for my local rep. says it is private money to pay private contractors. Congress forbidden to garnish or seize funds. He is looking into it more, but now, he says it is GTG!

It definitely would be. This plan probably can't even work at the end of the day, but what's happening here is what I need to happen in order for the ideas expressed in this thread to be possible.

I've created a Facebook account, signed up for the blue check mark (Divulged ALL info necessary to steal my identity and ruin my life), and have begun engaging the people donating to this thing on a personal level. The diplomacy factor in my responses is maxed out as high as I can go. Completely unlike the crude shit I came up with in that thread.

Tomorrow, the dude that started this campaign gets on FOX news on the ingraham thing. Shitloads of people will see the conversations I've been having. There's a chance, small, but there, that I'll light some fires. Especially if GGWG can donate to the teacher in AR I've pushed to tell me what it is she thinks would fix public education.

What comes from that? I dunno. I really don't.

I'm just praying that folks hear this shit, Brian Kolfage doesn't fuck this up, and I can successfully pivot interest from the wall to restoration. Tackle the real issues, you know?

Pray for me, Pray for Brian, Pray for America.

I think the wall is a bad idea to a much needed solution. Why? Because I think the migrants will just figure out a way to get around it, disable it, or make it useless. Humans are an inventive species hardwired to solve problems via evolutionary imperative. They'll figure out how to go over, under, around, or makes its maintenance so expensive we give up on it. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but the pattern would follow other failed strategies.

1.) I'm not overpaying my share. I've received some contributions from family, friends, and a handful of folks from the 'hide (not @corey4 though, which seems weird to me). Got a bit of money allocated to the furtherance of this objective, and I've budgeted $500 to this particular thing but will expand that if it works out like I think it will, and another ~$250 for some Rx video glasses. (that last one is an approximation because shipping and success is not known yet).

2.) Walls are a deterrent. Your car windows work pretty well to keep people from stealing your shit, right? Your door locks? I could easily fuck any of those things. Hell, I could destroy your whole neighborhood. I don't, though, because I care about you, and because of deterrents. Deterrents work. Prison isn't as much of a deterrent anymore. It is, in some cases, better than actually living on your own (if you're really fucking stupid). Punishments aren't deterrents. The people do nothing, no deterrents there.

Hey, here's a big fucking wall. We're actually going to have to work to get over it, around it, under it. Not worth it, lets go home. That's 95+% of your assholes right there. Bad shit happens? Yeah, sure, but far less than there would have been without that deterrent! For the rest? Shoot 'em where you see 'em.

3.) Have some fucking faith, man! This is the American people we're talking about!

The only way I would give is if a private company is setup to build the wall with or without permission from government. Any government.

Giving this money to the federal government is a non-fucking-starter. I don't give a fuck what kind of legal contract you can get them to sign. What are you going to do when they renege on it? And know this: they will renege on it.

The ongoing maintenance costs will be several billion annually ON TOP of whatever ungodly amount it actually takes to not only construct BUT purchase the land on which the wall would be constructed on. My guess is that none of y’all actually live in Southern States and are just parroting what you see on Fox News.

The ONLY way to fix immigration is to annex Mexico.

Most of them aren't coming from Mexico. Most of them are being shipped across Mexico from South America. So building the wall here or taking Mexico and building the wall on their southern border, has the same effect.

Most everything else you said was just as ill thought out and wrong headed.

Just the auto portion of the USMCA alone is worth more than Five Billion a year in revenue to the Federal Government.
While it's dubious to cut out Mexico from Canada in the deal and put a dollar value on it, it's not unreasonable to say that the increase of free trade, and removal of barriers to our exports will result in more economic activity and an increase in trade and Federal Revenue that makes Five Billion a rounding error.

That's what this is as a line item in the Federal budget, a rounding error. Shut the whole fucking thing down. LEGOWI with the fucktards on this site and across this nation. Shutting down the government is NOTHING. In fact it works to our advantage across the board now and in the future. I completely agree with your wall statement. I think a lot of us here do actually. That’s just our way of saying we want something done. I’m actually not a huge fan of forever scarring the landscape really, especially when I think there are better options. Without someone to monitor the wall from end to end it would be fairly easy to mitigate. Another funny thing about walls is that they are not only designed to keep things out but also to keep things in. Just something to think about.
