I convinced my liberal sister to get guns about 4 weeks ago.

This is a good soft benefit of the virus. People who were anti-gun find themselves wanting to buy one. I guess, for them, panic is coming to roost. It's tilting people away from gun control .

And they'll all turn them in as soon as Joe Biden orders them to... and virtue signal to the rest of us that the 2A only covers muskets and that Joe Biden says shoot twice in the air and that will calm old Cornpop down and let the little ones start smoothing out his leg hair...

All these liberals are now is... armed liberals. When they see that the 'arming' part is about their personal responsibility to defend their natural rights and the rights of those around them... they will be properly 'woke.' Until then, they are just signaling that they are herd-followers...

The disturbing thing when the, Bidens or Swallowballs, even dare to discuss the true intent of 2A they compose it in the context of how can you expect to resist our power.

So they are confirming their intent to use force on law abiding Americans.

If they had benign intentions they might argue the 2A is outmoded because being committed to rule of law the government would be unable to use force on its people.

The more they speak, the more the need for 2A.

And the videos coming out of China where entire apartment blocks are being herded into quarantine camps regardless of whether they are sick or not also causes people to wake up and realize that this kind of shit can happen anywhere...

I also expect the firearms black market in China to balloon over the next months and years to come.

A lot of people think that the horrors of history textbook totalitarian governments are relegated to the past and the current world is all anime girls, Twitter, smartphones and cashless utopia. The past three months have been a much needed reality check.

What did she go with?

Little to no training Id suggest a sweet vintage S&W Mod 36 in steel as God intended guns to be made.

Hoping she spoke with you and not some ass gun counter guy that said 10 millimeter and a gun that requires a trained manual of arms.

Revolver - "If it doesnt fire resort to step 1 - pull the trigger"

as opposed to

Semi - "If it doesnt fire - Tap, rack, reload, strip magazine, clear jam, reinsert magazine yada, yada, yada"

Not that I know anything about anything, but I always try to steer new shooters to revolvers.

As a Libertarian, I'm constantly told that I'm nothing but a wasted vote and then when I tell about how I don't vote and don't believe in it, then the argument switches from me being a wasted vote to how I shouldn't be allowed to have a political opinion if I don't vote. It's so adorable how folks can claim how patriotic they think they are, but are very quick to tell others what they can and can't say/think if they don't share the same views.

while I commend you on talking her into protecting her self It occurs to me that an untrained firearm owner is about as dangerous to them self as an unarmed untrained civilian that refuses to look both ways while crossing a busy intersection and hope you at least help her to practice how to handle the gun or point her to a class that could help her get better with her gun how to load / reload shoot maintenance and all that good stuff. Good luck and hopefully she will never need it .

Well, when you only buy 20 rounds - you wouldn’t want to waste them practicing or shooting more than the standard 3 to 5 yds they heard defensive shootings happen at. You know, because everybody knows how to shoot a gun. They watched all the John Wick movies already and know how it works.
