If you read through the OSC 2011 AAR you may have seen this pic, but I just wanted to throw it out here. It's not too often you see a regular sized girl shooting a 18lb rifle slung, offhand, and making it look easy.

This planted the seed. This weekend she shot her second match with a rifle more suited to her (AAC-SD in a XLR Chassis). Now I think she is hooked.

NICE! My wife is super small, she thinks a 243 kicks hard. I have talked her into shooting a 223 and ringing plates at 500yards. She like it but didn't see what all the fuss was about.

Now that I have a son, when he starts shooting with me, I think she will be more in to it.d

Reminds me of when I took my fiancée out shooting. She liked it so much she decided that my .223 was now hers

Yup. She's a keeper. What makes it even better is that she wasn't even planning on shooting in the event but did so just to help us out (team drill/last minute cancellation). Now that's a class act. Thanks.

You're a lucky man to have a wife that not only shoots with you, but shoots in a match as well....

I'm still trying to figure out if you have low or medium rings...lol I have IOR High's on my AE, and looking at my rifle they look too high, but it's comfy for me.

Vortex Low's.

Will be replacing them with Highs. It seems I am about the only one who can get a proper cheek weld on it and I don't think I will be able to with a gas mask on.

Nah, she preferred the Diet Mountain Dew. Couldn't get her to try the Monster. Probably a good thing. We don't need any new addictions.

You are lucky. My little woman doesn't care for shooting at all. In fact, last time I talked her into going with me, she sat behind me and read one of her novels.

So Very Cool. My wife likes either an Anschutz 22 or Cooper 243. Its so cool to watch her shoot. I love watching the guys when she razzs them for kicking their asses.

A keeper! Congrats and keep supporting your wife.

Lucky man! And you didn't have to take the recoil pad/spacers off the rifle!

Took my missus shooting last weekend with the AW and had to "reconstruct" the stock every time to get anywhere near an eye relief and LOP she could use! (she's 5'0", I'm 6'2").

Shooting = prerequisite for marriage.

A guy who loves dogs should not marry a woman who hates them. A woman who wants children should not marry a man who doesn't. Someone who enjoys the outdoors should not marry a couch potato. It is an issue of fundamental compatability in my mind.

at least she went with you.

perhaps she doesn't shoot for the same reason I don't golf... its an expensive hobby and I let that be my husband's happy place... I like golf, like golf courses and even enjoy going to the driving range...but I know if I got into it...it would be a lot of money if we both kept that up...it's enough I want to encourage our daughters to play with him too...

However, I do shoot and three of the five weapons we possess are mine- the fact is... I already called dibs on the AR I originally had built for him and wasn't gonna do that twice... LOL

Natural shot is one of the first reasons my wife was a keeper... Second was that she didn't need any help figuring out how to use the 7 remotes for the entertainment center.

i just picked up a AI stock they are a good looking rig just not good for off hand shooting. Im still on the fence about it i wish it was as comfortable as the htg stock, Any position was perfect with it.
