ACKCHYUALLY, many of dem guys were nomadic, didn’t build anything or do much, just wandered the land hunting, fishing, and yelling at their squaws (can we still say that?). Didn’t really mess anything up.

The old guy was a German that owned a ranch west of Austin in the Hill Country and didn't appreciate all the flint shards and arrowheads that they just left littered around their 10K year old campsites. They could puncture a tire.

The local cops in my area are required to go to the range one time per year.

In my LE time, training varied wildly, from year to year. Some years we had what I considered barely adequate training. Most years, it was State minimums; which is shooting qualification once a year. I spent a lot of my own time and money on going to training. I got a lot of pushback from the other guys. It was ridiculous. In no way did me being better hurt them.
