I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

A warning, or you received a "I agree to the site rules" page when you logged on?

The latter is normal every once in a while, if the former I don't know.

I got one of those today.

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

Everyone got,

The board forced everyone to read and acknowledge the rules as some have changed.

The reason it says, "we consider this a first warning" is because too often we ban people for violation of 1 or more of the rules and they feel we failed to "warn" them first when removing their post or temporally banning them. So this eliminates the issue. Everyone got it, so everyone has been warned. Now if you break the rules and we edit or delete your post, and / or ban you consider yourself warned.

if you did not read them, I suggest you look at the top of the Bear Pit or in the For Sale area to see what changed as we seem to get a lot of the ignorance defense lately.

This was not personal, nor was it directed at any one specifically, but a board wide notice.

Lowlight,

I have read the rules in the past, and re-read them again this morning, but didn't specifically note the change. What were the changes?

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

The signature image size, the limits on post count padding, no more than 15 posts in a single day, the addition of the Recommended Tips for the for sale area. As well as expanding the possible consequences of breaking the rules was spelled out in more detail. Commercial sales details... Forum Suicide posts, a few small additions.

Not huge but enough.

Q: Is the 15 post a day limit just for those under 100 posts or for everyone? Just curious because if I get caught up in two or three discussions with multiple back and forths in one day I want to know if I need to start paying attention to how many posts I've made.

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

Not to be a prude or anything, but is there any content rules for avatars/sigs? I didn't really see it on the new rule warning, but I could have missed it. IMHO the content is a little much recently. I've had to turn off pretty much all the accessory features (avs, sigs, etc.) because browsing in public draws unwanted attention when a lewd avatar rolls by. I never mind the crap in maggies or bear pit, because I know that won't accidentally roll by when coworkers are present.

Again, not trying to stir up any shit, just looking for clarification...

I appreciate all you do to keep the ship on course, Frank (and team). Thanks.

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

No,

This is an adult site and other than the unwritten rule of no full frontal nudity, I don' t have a rule regarding it. Really it is common sense and the fact you can turn it off solves the problem completely if you ask me.

I have changed the rule regarding signature size so hopefully that let's people think about it a bit. But I don't see the point of people coming to a sniper site, or even the Hunting Section and then saying T&A are uncalled for. In my opinion, and it's just my opinion, the animals with its sides laid open is more offensive than a jiggling pair of tits or a girl pulling up her jeans over a bare ass.

But I understand where you are coming from, my recommendation is turn them off at work.

I did, I just wasn't clear if "post count padding" was a phenomenon considered exclusive to sub-100 users or not. Thanks. And, free BTT. Wish I had the money, but I just ordered one like it last Tues.

I leave the content on at work but the specific images I can block using Firefox and AdBlock. Right click, select, gone. Helps on the high bandwidth drawing .gif too.

Re: I just recieved a warning and I don't know why

That explains why for the last few weeks I log in and go to the forums but immediately it says I'm not logged in. Whatdacrap!?then finally I looked in this thread and figured if I scroll to the bottom of the rules notice and check the box I'll stay logged in. aha. working so far.

That's a very good idea to let people know of rule changes before allowing logon. Maybe to help out other nitwits who don't read things carefully, there could be a note at the top that says "if you don't read and agree to all the rules, and then check the box at the bottom, then you'll be immediately logged back off. There's nothing wrong with your browser or settings."
