Lost in Idaho...
Im trying to convert my Manfrotto 322RC2 Grip Ball Head from the Manfrotto quick release plate system to an Arca Swiss setup, this way I can easily swap my binos, spotting scope, camera and rifle onto the tripod as needed. Has anyone on here done this successfully? I cant seem to find the A.S. adapter plate for the rounded mounting base that is on the grip ball head.

Thanks for the help!

Not sure there is an easy way to do it. I don't know of anyone offering a conversion kit per se, drop in and go. From the looks of it, you'd need to pull the current threaded post and e clip, and fabricate a plate with the two hole spacing to match an RRS lever release base. That plate would need to bolt on the head through the existing hole (that now has had the threaded stud removed). Not sure of a threaded sleeve/bushing would work, or maybe a chicago screw(?).

I'm probably not helping much, and am just going off pictures I can see on the internet of your specific ball head. But wanted to toss out a few ideas....

I’m not sure what the grip ball head is like, but I had to buy this for my Manfrotto ball head to make the conversion.

I am not a huge fan of this option, but I get asked about it a good bit and it does work.......

Just thread one of your RC2 plates to the bottom of one of our threaded clamps. Nothing is permanent, easily removable, and you gain what your looking for. Down side is it is not anti-twist.

Here is the link if you want it, Link for Clamp

Not trying to be impolite, but honestly the best thing you can do is sell that grip head and buy a quality ballhead or leveling base that already has a clamp integrated.

The grip heads are pretty poor solutions for holding a rifle stable, compared to other heads.

I hear what you're saying and while I agree, I can say its the best solution for my uses. Especially if I really tighten the tension screw down, it holds it pretty solid and then allows me to move my 13lb rifle around to another target without much issue. When I use it for camera work or the spotting scope, I simply just loosen up the tensioner. I have to work with compromises in my setup unfortunately.
