Shooting 800 meters is not what makes you a sniper. Getting close enough to be effective while not being detected is key. That requires more fieldcraft than just marksmanshhip.

That part kind of stumped me too, because that is my own background. I'd been a dishwasher/building porter/maintenance COMBINED before. And now I am in construction. In both former and latter, it is purely performance and pragmatism driven. You do your job and keep it all hair-shaving razor sharp in every place you are responsible for, we all work at our own pace...
And then it hit me... It WOULD be high stress if you cannot put out what is asked of you, keep making stupid mistakes and constantly get chewed out and clowned for it...
No, and I don't even do concrete except for the times I had to patch holes we had to make in a floor and then the other time I needed to anchor my mail box.

I'm guessing from your post that you probably don't know that they don't give them shitty clothes anymore. The gear they give even line joes would probably shock you. No more shit field jackets, smoking jackets and glorious poncho liners piled up 3 to a garbage 20lb sleeping bag that absorbs water like a sponge. They are issued better gear now than you probably realize exists. Also, if they start bitching about the cold, they give them milk and cookies and move them immediately into a heated building. I don't know how long you've been out, but it isn't what you remember.
Tents would require some level of fieldcraft. We always slept in poncho hooches, but now they probably have heated gp mediums in cold weather, at a minimum..
