Hello, probably the worng place, the wrong forum but please, read.
First, let me tell you that i'am sorry to write that here, but there is a LOT of buddy that are in the army here and MAYBE they can help me about my concern as they have a lot of knowledge...
Ok here is the story, i live in Canada, i'am working in a GM dealer, there is a guy, from the US that really whant me to sell him : 152 GM spark plug, not a joke, he rush me to use the credit card and send him the 152 spark plug UPS EXPRESS, is there something dangerous you can build with sparkplug, can you ignit something big with sparkplug ???

why buy that amount of sprak plug from my dealer, from a very small town in the far north of canada when there A LOT of GM deales in the US, probably right across the street, Also, GM in Canada and in the US have TONS of thoses spark plug in stock so it's NOT because ther is no more un the US ???
i have a red light in my head that tell me there is something not clean with that !!!!!!!

did i miss something, maybe i'am totaly wrong and i'am worring for nothing but some of you guy have WAY MUCH more knowledge about that then me !!!

One more time, i'am sorry to post that here, but if i prevent a bad thing in the US, i'll be more then happy, If i'am wrong
laugh at me... but at least, i'll sleep more in peace then if i had done nothing

Nope, he know they are available, he even check before order from us, he gave us 3 specific part number (3 spark plug number that don't fit the same model of GM ???) and the number he choose to order are the part number that GM have the MOST in stock ?? he know about it !!!
PLUS, i don't whant to send him away and loose contact with him, he will buy them anywhere else and maybe the next dealer will not have a red light like me, again, i MAY BE wrong but just whant to take no chances !!!!

holy shit $3000 for 152 plugs? what gm or ac delco part number are they? when I sold parts for 5 years most of the delco platinum plugs were $8-$10 and even the iridium ones wern't more than 12, I'd personally tell him to get f**ked and buy them in the states. most part houses sell delco or NGK which is used for alot of the new gm part numbers It will be cheaper. they can match up the same part numbers as you can. sounds like some sort of fraud to me

the part's are not in stock at my dealer ANYWAY, the delevry date is monday for my dealer and the delevry date for the US is the 19th, sure i'll call the credit card number and keep you in touch. Even if this is a credit card fraud, what he will do with 152 spark plug, he CAN'T ask for a refund in the US, the invoice is CAD !!! anyway, we have all the weekend to find it out, if some one have a idea, please, let me know. If it,s only credit card fraud, no big deal, he'll be nailed, my concern was about the security of US citizen's, i have only small knowledge in explosives but it might be a new type i'am not aware !!!

Ok, RCMP and PHONE BUSTER know about him now, they told me that it's a new kind of crime, some where right here, this GROUP stole credit card, they buy platinium spark plug to melt the platinium and sell it, hard do find, hard to trace.

Sorry for my alert but i ONLY wanted to be shure that nothing can hurt US Citizen

Sounds like credit card fraud. Do ups offer a cash on delivery service? Is there no way he can transfer the cash to your company before you send the spark plugs?
He will proberly rip your firm off and put them on ebay. If the guy is genuine then he will not mind waiting for funds to clear before sending the parts.

OK so here you go first the minute amount of platinum is not that usable. The amount that is there is pretty much the additional cost for the plug itself. Next thing the only thing these plugs can be used for in the criminal sense is something the "criminals" call shatter rocks. Basically they take a used spark plug throw it on the ground to break the ceramic and use the pieces to throw at side windows to shatter them. This is used to either steal the car or truck or purely for vandalism. Next the parts for GM are getting more difficult to get from GM. As the dealerships start to close the nationwide parts inventory are starting to shrink along with the difficulty to get from the factory due to the parts suppliers not selling to GM because of the bankruptcy. That has really hurt supply severely. If this is a common spark plug for any of the truck market I would understand the need if this person is acting for the dealership he says he works at. However as stated previously you should be very careful of credit card fraud especially if it is a corporate card. Do some intel like checking out the place of shipment, check out the address on Google maps street view. Make a few calls figure out a way to protect yourself like money order etc.

edit just read it was fraud. That would be a LOT of work to get the small tab of platinum off of the electrode and ground.

second edit: wonder why they would not have bought catalytic converters? Way easier to get the metal out of them and a significant amount of platinum rhodium and palladium in those.

I work in the law enforcement field. You can be certain it is credit card fraud. The credit card company probably has no idea that the card number was stolen yet. More than likely it was stolen on line through a computer virus that inserted a key stroke logger into the victim's computer. The spark plugs have value and are the more expensive variety. If the bad guy got a hold of them they may be sold on ebay but their fraud dept. is really good. I'd put my money on the guy selling them through something like craigslist. Do yourself a favor and don't talk to the guy again. He's calling you in Canada because he knows purchasing them from you when he's living in the US creates a lot of jurisdictional problems for RCMP or US law enforcement.

There; fixed it for you. Anyone else had a car stolen simply so the thieves could cut the catalytic converter out of the exhaust system?
