smokshwn,
I said it looked about as useful as tits on a snake. I didn't say anything about whether or not it worked. Sort of like the JP tank brakes on AR's. They work but just look weird to me.

I have a Mossy that about breaks your shoulder with 3.5" OOO-buck. A muzzle break would be a great idea but certainly <span style="text-decoration: underline">NOT </span>that hideous looking thing.

Re: I saw this in my local gun shop... (Pic)

Can't imagine the application for the Mossberg but I do agree with a great shotgun for competiton as the RandR Saiga. This one that Robert built is mine. Just keep the gas tube clean and keep ROs/friends away from the JP ports...

Ive got a Benelli with a factory brake that works well. Its based on the M1S90 and was marketed as the Practical Tactical. It has a long ported barrel, open sights plus a picatinny rail, an 8 shot extension, an 8 shot speedloader setup, oversize controls and a factory break. The brake makes a noticeable difference when shooting slugs at paper.

And thought.. That is by far the dumbiest thing I have seen.. barret 50 cal muzzle break or close to it and a heat shield for a shot gun.......

Am I alone on this or is this just a retarded usless shot gun plat form... </div></div>
+1 Retarded is operative phrase.

Re: I saw this in my local gun shop... (Pic)

If you go to a shotgun shoot you will find a number of shotguns ported for trap, skeet, and practical. Based upon the pricing I got for doing it to a Benelli the cost is not for the "let me try this on for size" crowd and they are doing it on $5k-$10k shotguns at that. The brake shown is less than worthless but the concept of porting a shotgun or lengthening the forcing cone has been around for a looong time.

Recoil looks pretty painful....there's a prime example of how "well" that brake works!

I'm just wondering what fool would purchase this.. other than a joke at the range and who in the right mind would spend company money into building and putting this into production...

And groove was it at Field time?? Because im from OC as well and thats where I saw this thing at. </div></div>

winchester???? this has to easily be one of the most recognizable shotguns on the market . people never cease to suprise me .duh

P.M.S. T.I.T. and T.W.A.T.? Intentional???

As far as the mossberg is concerned, a buddy of mine has one without the hideous brake on it and even with slugs and buckshot it's comfortable to shoot with the pistol grip

Re: I saw this in my local gun shop... (Pic)

I think the main point for this particular device has been missed. It allows half the pellets to be diverted out the back so that the shooter can establish a rear defensive perimeter at 4:00 and 8:00 in a SHTF scenario.
