Nothing new under the sun, bud. I’d still buy this over several existing offerings because I like my 6-36 and 1-6 from VTXIn the Vortex lineup, got it.
In Earth, not so much…

Won't know till we get more details, or someone spills them, from the above it sounds like it's lighter so that's a win for guys not wanting a 4lb optic. Could just be filling out the lineup, they have been trying to give away Razor Gen II 3-18's for almost a year now, and recently the 4.5-27's appear to be getting closed out some stores. So this might be filling a void for the Gen II's going away (total speculation). Looks to have the same turret/style as the 6-36 so it's not going to be cheapWhat gap does this fill?

I think that is just a camera lens aberration or a depth of field thing. The magnification power numbers look like they were painted on by hand.
Thank you!Won't know till we get more details, or someone spills them, from the above it sounds like it's lighter so that's a win for guys not wanting a 4lb optic. I've often been confused of the popularity of say the 3-18 optics that are 95% of the price and size/weight of their 5-25, 4.7-27 counterparts etc. Now if it's 20% lighter, and cheaper sure I can see it fitting a use case. But I also don't get why guys put a huge mag optic on their bolt guns but then put a 3-18 on their 18lb precision AR's. The Razor Gen II 3-18 was a perfect example, they have been giving them away for $1100 or less now for months. It's not a bad scope but why buy a 3-18x when the 4.5-27x is the same size/weight/cost. You gotta really love 3-4.5x to give up 10x on the top end in the same package.
Now if the Gen II 4.5-27 does go away, and this 4-24 really is 30% lighter and smaller package than the 6-36, that makes a lot more sense to distance it from the 6-36 more than the 3-18 ever did from the 4.5-27
Wondering if this is just a reworked delta Stryker 3.5-21x44? But in a 4-24 of course.
When you wrote "I know nothing," I could hear Sgt. Schulz from "Hogan's Heroes" in my head.G3 Razor 4-24x44? at a NRL Event. Enjoy the teaser. That is all.
disclaimer: I know nothing except I'm saving my money.

Pretty positive it’s a 34mm, I didn’t get to look through one but was talking to the Vortex guys running them at a recent NRL.Probably a closer sibling to the element nexus Gen 2 4-25x or zeiss 4-25, depending on the tube size. But this will have better glass.
Speaking of which, Does anyone know if it’s 30mm or 34mm tube?
Very conflicted; want this to be real but we are so very close to April 1st...
It’s very real. I saw 2-3 of them at the match.Very conflicted; want this to be real but we are so very close to April 1st...

OpticsplanetWhere are 3-18 razors at for $1100? They haven't been made in a couple of years or so I thought....I'll buy one right now if you point me to a new one....
Have you seen the MDT black friday sale shitshow.....I mean event every year? There's no shortage of people that will put up with anything to save a couple bucks, even on the HidePeople on the hide still want to take their chance with Optics Planet???![]()
Its says in stock so its probably there. OP is fine as long as you order something marked IN STOCK.I tried to buy that 3-18 from OP last year, they are not in stock. After months of waiting I emailed OP, they said that scope is discontinued. They do have the 4-27 in stock.
I ended up getting 2 viper pst II 3-15x44 on sale, great scope for the price (about $600), end of last year.
They’re prolly commiesPeople on the hide still want to take their chance with Optics Planet???![]()
I think DeathBeforeDismount hit the nail on the head:What’s the price on this going to be?
MSRP is 9500, Retails for 4000 but street price is going to be 2k.
What’s the deal with Dvor? Looks like one of those websites you’d find at the back of a photography magazine.Yep prices seem to be falling a bit, no idea where Optics Planet is getting the 3-18's but they've had several batches of them over the last year and a couple other vendors have as well. Dvor has the 6-36 for $2350, Sportsmans had the 4.5-27 for around $1750 a couple weeks ago till it sold out. That said Optics will also let you put 15,000 Gen II 3-18s in a cart too so who knows how many (or if they) are in stock, but I'd bet it's not 15,000! That's always a risk with Optics Planet/Dvor you can snag some great deals, but there's always a risk it will never show up, or will take 2 months to ship.
Hard to complain about a 3-18x Gen II for $1000 when places are selling XTR III 3-18s for $1200. If I was a fan of 3-18x I'd have tossed them on about everything I wanted one on by now for that price. As long as you don't mind it's 4lbs and the color I guess![]()
