I was told this about using a ccw as an ID for gun buys...

A cop said when he pulls someone over he can see what guns they own if they used their ccw for buying a gun. They are all listed under that ccw.

I stopped using my ccw for ID.

Dunno if true, but not taking any chances. And last gun I bought went through just as smoothly without the ccw.

🙄 imagine his disappointment when he finds out I lost all the guns he supposedly can see I bought with my CCW, while canoeing in Lake Pond Oreille in North Idaho; It’s 1100’ deep which is likely not as deep as the BS coming out of his mouth.
That’s nothing I lost mine in crater lake at just over 1900’

I don’t know about other states, but Idaho enhanced license allows us to buy guns without the stupid phone call to the idiots in a federal office. So basically, they write down the license number on the form, and I hand the salesman the money, and he hands me the gun. The only way a cop could know is if I talked to much and he found out what I bought.

CCW stands for concealed carry weapon. Not sure how that helps you buy a gun, unless you’re using your ccw for armed robbery

He can’t see that

But if a cop gets your phone number he can instantly access your mobile phone pornhub history

85% of sniperhide erases internet history….

It's going to be a long and deranged viewing for the officer if he gets my phone. No matter how hard you try not to, if you are on that site long enough you always end up at tentacles.

My state (constitutional carry) the only thing ccw gets you is nics exempt. It looks better in the court of law if you do get in a legit shoot, you’ve recieved some minimal amount training in the subject.

As far as farva/unit 91 pulling me over, I’m going to adhere to what my states laws are on declaring if I'm armed or not. Other than that, fuck em, talk to my lawyer. Keep yo mouf shut.

No idea. They always ask for it at the guns store. Says it makes it easier. From last gun purchase, it was the same thing with or without it. With ccw or without I still filled out the computer form. With no ccw it was the same time for approval which is maybe a minute or two.

Forum does not have much content for me. It is for hardcore long-distance shooting, which I am not. Plus, I didn't like some of the replies I got when I sent in early posts. Sometimes you join a forum, and it does not work out.

I posted this same topic in a firearms forum I'm on asking the question of...is this true. But they took it down immediately, which was kinda odd. What is wrong with asking the question of whether there is a registry of every gun you bought using your ccw?

They don't call here at the big stores. All computer and very fast.

This is BS. CCW are state by state laws as would be any sort of fuck wad liberal gun registration.

I think this thread is glowing.

Dunno. I think the cop was from WA state.

I'm in the Rustbelt. I just figured, if there is no benefit I can see from using ccw as an ID, then why use more ID when I can use less. You check things out in your own states and let us know.

My point was that the letters “ccw” stand for “Concealed Carry Weapon”. Not sure how the weapon helps in the purchase of a new weapon. Anyway, at my local mom and pop gun store they have to make the call to the ncis (or something like that). It’s the database run by the good ol boys at the fbi. The store calls the phone number and reads them my drivers license number and in a few minutes it tells them if I can legally own a gun. If I have an Idaho enhanced permit they don’t have to make that call. The enhanced permit was an extensive background check so that call has already been made. They just write down my concealed carry license number and we complete the sale.

So your big store just goes on the nics website and looks at your license number. If they are keeping track of what you purchased under that concealed carry license then I’m sure they are keeping track under your drivers license as well and either way you’re screwed.

Walking back in time. We have several of these 2020 accounts that seem odd, it may have something to do with an election cycle. ??

Yes. The election cycle always brings them out.
I used to think they all glowed, but now I'm not so sure.
I don't know if it's just the mood of the country that gets them to finally post?
Or if it's simply some big Org's way of taking the country's pulse.
I believe the Glowies are just a constant presence.
They WANT us to know they are watching.

More and more reasons to leave CO. CHP doesnt do shit for us as far as purchasing. Still do nics checks, still have to wait the 3 days to pick up. Its a huge pain in the ass for me since im hours from some of the shops I use. I mean, if I were to buy a gun, LOL.

Seems that there is some confusion about some acronyms (CCW, NICS,...), from the ATF website:

Point #1 - a CCW license falls under a state permit. The things that would cancel or prevent a CCW would cause a flag during a NICS

Going back to the OPs comment about a cop being able to see what guns you own - I would guess if there is a state registry the cops have access. If there is no state registry then there is not "gun list" for the cop to check.

It depends where you are.

Some states allow a CCWP to be used instead of the Background call; the license holder has already went thru a BGC to obtain the license.

But This thread is visible in the dark.
