Hello,
I'm relatively new to reloading and most recently began trying to reload for my 6.5CM AR-10. An individual from this forum had indicated that I should determine whether my AR-10 will further headspace bump my resized brass upon chambering a round. I had never thought of this, and just experimented with this idea last night. I found out that my AR-10 does in fact bump my resized brass an additional .004". The only issue I see with this is that my original resizing plan didn't take this into account. Originally, my fired brass fire formed @ 1.563", so I resized my brass to approx. 1.559-1.560". This was a bump of approx. .004", which I thought was agood place to start with this AR-10 platform. The conclusion of all this I determined that my reloaded cartridges are seeing .004" of bump during resizing and .004" during chambering. This is a total of .008" of bump, which I would think would be a bit excessive and not ideal. With all this being said, I am hoping to gather some advice from this community on what I should do.
Should I just resize my 6.5CM brass without bumping the headspace, since its occurring during chambering?
All advice and criticism is welcome! Thanks in advance.
