IDTS?

drill at 100 meters, also here some correlations between reticle position when I broke the shot and Mantis X path.
so finally, dry fire with my approach give me a sort of feedback
in this first video the shot with a score of 98.2 is on the bottom on the right side, my target is not squared, irregular shape, some tolerance but on the most of the shots all the reference are very close

I made the mistake of buying D.F.A.T and realized in minutes of opening the box that it is useless to me, and probably most of you.

The device limits the focusing distance to just a few feet. Unless you plan to perform dry fire practice in your bathroom or across the dinner table, that is just too short.

I attempted to return the bloody thing 30 minutes after arrival but the dealer refused based on an obscure pandemic policy statement burred in his web site. Since the policy was there, even the credit card company refused to protect me.

So ya, I have this stupid thing and no use for it whatsoever.

The concept of the product is sound however the lenses are not idealized for the practical use of such a product.

If the operating distance was longer, then it would be useful, but I suspect the volume of sales does not justify efforts to appropriately select lenses.

The minimum focus distance should be the current maximum focus distance, then it might have a chance. An actual focus distance range between 5 and 15 yards would be ideal, but the current offering will not focus past 5 yards at most.

I do not recommend that anyone buys such a product until they address the problem I noted here.
Old post but if you still have it. . . I'll buy it from ya for $20? I'd love to try one.

Has anyone had trouble with the IDTS substantially changing the length of the required eye relief on your scope when installed? I have to extend the length of pull by over an inch to get a full field of view which changes the ergonomics of the rifle.

What am I doing wrong?

I use a DFAT and haven’t had anything like that happen.

Might (re)check your target distance and focus etc?

In the interest of saving some time for someone looking at this thread later, I'll describe my stupidity causing error.

Mistake 1.... I moved my scope and cheekpiece around to a neutral enough position that my wife could shoot the rifle as well just by adjusting the length of pull.

Mistake 2... When moving the scope to that more neutral position I did all of my setup off a bag on a ladder.

Mistake 3... I plopped my fat ass on the ground to try the IDTS out in the prone position with a scope mounted barely within my eye relief.

The fix... Reset scope to proper eye relief and recognize that because I'm fat I need to be careful about how I get into prone because it throws my head way forward compared to positional shooting that is more upright. To summarize, the IDTS is awesome and I've been putting in 15 min to half an hour every day with it. Very happy I purchased it.

Reviving this thread. Good info.

I was deciding between the two. Thought I wanted the IDTS as I like the stand. I got out a Vortex scope cap and can't get it on the end of my Vortex Razor Gen II due to clearance over barrel. Is the cap that comes with IDTS similar? If so, guess my option is to just buy the DFAT.

The DFAT screws in to the threads the sunshade uses. IDTS does offer the targets and stand without the lens, so you can get best of both.
