I may need to sell a rifle. My wife is taking an accelerated batchelors of nursing course, and this summer was asked to take it a bit further than we had expected- and budgeted for.
There are 2 that would more than cover it. I have my own idea about which but tell me if my logic is sound. So far I don't shoot either in competition or hunt. Both are more just to have and play with.
I have a Les Baer AR15 patrolman carbine. I have put about 50 rounds total through it.
I also have a DPMS LR308 SASS with a lot of upgrades.
I am leaning towards selling the Les Baer if it becomes necessary. I think it is a lot more easily replaceable than the SASS. In fact I would probably go with a different manufacturer or build my own.
I think if I sell the SASS I would probably never buy anything similar to it. I may buy another bolt rifle, but this is a good rifle, and it is kind of neat having something a little different than most others at my range shoot.
Like I said- both are basically toys. I am 53 and am also facing the fact that I may never shoot long rangs or a long range match. I will probably never shoot a carbine match either.
The only match shooting I do are pistol matches and CMP/Garand rifle matches.
What do ya'll think?
