If you want a large bolt knob quickly......

So similar to the KRG Bolt Lift, but offered for more models. Would think about picking one up if I had anything else to put one on. Savage I can get the factory handles for similar price. Certainly looks like a nice piece though, and I see its aluminum.

So similar to the KRG Bolt Lift,
Maybe similar in concept, but not in execution. These things blow the plastic bolt lift out of the water in the looks and ergonomics department. From a couple of feet away it's hard to tell them apart from a custom job. You can tell the KRG is a plastic ball from a mile away.

These snap-on bolt knobs look horrible and scream "I'm a cheap-ass!".

Snap on? Cheap ass? I take you don't know what the F you're talking about and have never even seen the product we're discussing here.

Either way, when I'm paying the money I couldn't care less what others thought.

I looked at the picture on the link. Just my opinion. If you are satisfied then thats ALL that matters. There is no subsitute for an actual bolt knob upgrade, but this one does beat the plastic one for Rem 700 bolts that everyone has.

Fair enough.

Functionally it is every bit as good as any threaded job of similar shape. The fact that it's a clamshell around the original knob doesn't detract from its functionality. My hand can't tell the difference.

We introduced the Bolt Lift around 7 years ago. It was then and still is a great product. It was never advertised, nor have we ever claimed it was a be-all-end-all product. The original idea was for .mil and LE and others who couldn't cut on their rifles, as we could not cut on our M-24's and Mk13's. Some think it looks great, some not. It wasn't meant as a bauble regardless. Fortunately for us a lot of people have purchased them and used them over the years. A lot of people tell us, "dang I wish I had thought of that". Those that dislike it generally have so far tactfully refrained from telling us their negative emotions or thoughts elicited.

We considered both a machined and cast aluminum knob and even made a mold. Neither made much sense in the end as the benefit over polymer was strictly perception and there were negatives like it getting really cold in the winter. To break our Bolt Lift, you have to use a vise or hammer generally. I've never seen one outright broken, only a very few that someone torqued the threaded insert out. It seemed like they were trying, but possibly not.

It's good to have a little competition. Maybe we'll take a look at an aluminum one again and see how we can beat theirs. At any rate, thank you to all of you out there who have purchased our Bolt Lift and our other products.

No homo, but I admire how much of a class act KRG is. You’ll get more of my money sooner or later once my GSW stops acting up.

Thank you much. I've been a fan of your work since I saw the gorgeous walnut stocked rifle you guys did many years ago. We definitely do some industry trading FYI, although the only GSW that comes to mind is gunshot wound so I hope that is not the case for you.

Great concept, but I think I will stick to my KRG bolt on.

Make no mistake, I didn't start this thread to bash KRG. I own their product and I am very satisfied with it. I don't own a KRG bolt lift for two reasons: 1. they don't make one for Howa rifles. 2. Even if they did, the machined aluminum Bolt On Quick Load knob just looks miles better.

Sorry, just saw this. I’’m not Chad of LRI, LRI refers to my brother’s business http://longrangeinternational.com and yes, I was referring to my gunshot wound.
