Just opened up my new Burris XTR 2. I put the the battery in the reticle illumination turret and I'm noticing that........
Between level 1 and 5 the reticle light is to dim to notice that it is even on.
From position 6 to 11 it seems to work as it should.
Has anyone else that has one of these scopes noticed the same thing.

Thank you, JakeM for such wonderful words of wisdom.

Maybe I should ask this in a different way....... Of the many illuminated reticle scopes that I have and have owned most of them will show a gradual increase in illumination intensity from the first setting all the way to the maximum setting unless the first couple of settings are specifically for use with NV, especially when in complete darkness. My new XTR 2 does not. With this scope, I am unable to tell that the reticle is on until the sixth level of illumination intensity.
Has anyone else noticed this with this particular scope.

What is the ambient light during your testing? Try it outside at night and see if 1-5 are still too hard to see. Ultimately, you want to have a system where the lowest setting is visible but dim at night, and the highest setting is easily visible in daylight. Not many are designed that good, but some are. So if you're testing in moderate daylight or normal light inside during the day, I would expect that you wouldn't be able to see the dim settings. Go in a closet or go outside at night and try it again and see if you feel differently about it.

I just checked mine-I can see on 2 just barely and 3 for sure. I don't have mine mounted so I'm holding it up-so it's very difficult to hold it just right so you can see reticle lume. Easier on 25x obviously. If you have it mounted it shouldn't be hard to see though.
