I'm trying to find a way to make my butt stock...

... extendible. I have a savage mark ii and I need to either buy or figure out how to make the stock longer. It's just to small. Is there a DIY that looks pretty good?

Buy a thicker buttpad, and or put in a spacer made of wood or plastic or aluminum. That would be the easiest way. If yo want more info try this forum. They have a dedicated savage rimfire section, but you'll find the most stock modification stuff in the 10/22 forums.

Mcmillan A5, or b&c adjustable. I think the b&c is a better option for the price.

A Limbsaver slip-on recoil pad can extend the LOP.

If that's not enough, go to the housewares dept at Walmart and buy a foam rubber kitchen floor pad. It's thick, can be cut into slabs that fit snug inside the limbsaver, and a few can be stacked between the inside of the pad and the original butt plate to extend the LOP further.
