Importing Manners Stock & DBM Into Australia?

Re: Importing Manners Stock & DBM Into Australia?

Manners prices from Lightforce that were listed on AHN

MANNERS COMPOSITE STOCKS
RETAIL PRICE LIST
(PRICES IN AUSTRALIAN DOLLARS AND INCLUDE GST)
-MCS-SL -$536 (SUPER LIGHT SPORTER)
-MCS-T -$500 (SPORTER/LIGHT TACTICAL) ($415USD)
-MCS-T3 -$548 (VARMINT/TACTICAL) ($455USD)
-MCS-T2 -$572 (TACTICAL) ($475USD)
-MCS-T2A -$740 (TACTICAL W/ADJ CHEEKPIECE)
-MCS-T4 -$572 (TACTICAL )
-MCS-T4A -$740 (TACTICAL W/ADJ CHEEK)
-MCS-T5 -$572 (TACTICAL THUMBHOLE)
-MCS-T5A -$740 (TACTICAL THUMBHOLE W/ADJ CHEEK)

I think the pricing isnt that bad.

The only question i have relates to DBM's. I have a T1 on order that is due to be shipped in 1-2 weeks and i had it inletted for a CDI DBM. With this order you required the BDM at the 4 week mark of the build. I sent Jeff an email and he sent the DBM straight to you with my order number as a reference.

How will this work with Lightforce?

I have 4 of Jeff's DBM's and want them on the rest of my builds. I have to order 1 more stock and will wait until my T1 turns up before i go for another manners.

I have spent a lot more on Wild Dog stocks than Lightforce are charging for Manners stocks. The best thing is Manners offer Winchester inlets that Wild Dog dont. I see them selling a lot of stocks in Australia.

My son bought a brand new remington 7615 a couple of years ago, from Horsley Park. The rifle was a real dog, and would only function with remington ammo. All other brands (we tried quite a few)resulted in EVERY round jamned so tight in the chamber that the case had to be forced out with a cleaning rod. Horsley Park refered the matter to the importer (raytrade). Raytrade inspected the rifle and determined that as it worked with remington ammo there was nothing wrong with it. They refused to repair fo replace it. Eentually I complaioned enough on a local hunting forum that the manager of Horsley Park replaced the rifle with a brand new one, at his expense. The new rifle works flawlessly, with all brands of .223 ammo.

The point of this story is that even some of the biggest members of the gun trade in Australia act like cowboys, with very poor customer service and no concern for the individuals who make up their market. I buy whatever I can from overseas. </div></div>
+1 I have had bad service been forced to pay to have repairs made that should be warenty had sights fitted only to have frunt sight fall out the first day and lost in long grass took rifle back to shop and told them and thay didnt want to no about it...have bought a rifle (bb94 375) that i had pics emailed to me by Cleaver Firearms paid $700(its probly worth $450) for and would be happy to do so if it was what was in the pics and discription it was/is rusty bore was rough but cleand up ok....so now i do as much work as i can my self
If you want some thing in Australia that is not run of the mill you have no choice but go and get it your self cos no deler will go out of there was to help you
Au is going down the shiter fast
Dave
alot of gunsmiths are going the same way i have noticed

I do agree with you and i to also buy as much as i can from overseas. The price on these stocks are good at the moment so i have bought one. If they go up a lot in the future then thats another story. I just wish i could buy more things from overseas.

Re: Importing Manners Stock & DBM Into Australia?

Well guys manners has finaly charged me for the T1 i ordered in early Feb. It worked out at $620 AUD inc postage and currency conversion. If you compare that to the price Nightforce are quoting its only $70 more and you still need to get it sent to you, so about $50 more. Its not as bad as everyone has been saying.

Re: Importing Manners Stock & DBM Into Australia?

I dont think any one has a problem with manners the prices look pretty good
at the moment

Manners make an excellent product

the issue I was raising is poor custermor service and support from the Australian
retailers like it has been said in other posts if a seller doesn't have it in stock and you want it it is very hard to get them to order anything for you even if you offer to pay up front...the same issue all the other people from Au have

sorry it was in this thread

I would rather deal with manners directly than most Australian business any day of the week
even if it means paying a bit more
the service and product support is right there

every company I have dealt with in the U/S gave exceptional service

and thank you Thomas for taking the time to explain about exporting from the US
