Kind of a dumb question. But before i use this will it still be the same load info as newer IMR? Posting a picture of can dont know the date. Just would rather be safe than sorry.
I think I know how you feel; I was given these by a friend who's father used to reload. His dad died in 1971 as I recall. These were stored in a sealed ammo can since that time. They still have the factory seal tape. I can't bring myself to pop their cherries!
I have a bunch of old powder that I have collected over the years through a couple of gunshop friends, mostly stuff that comes from a deceased relative and the family members drop it off at the shop. I haven't tried loading any of it yet but most of it seems OK by appearance and smell. There is also a quantity of LC '06 brass that is from the 1940's that I am working on, definitely seems like softer brass than the later stuff as far as I can tell.
I've NEVER had to adjust a load going from one lot of IMR powder to another. And most of the time, it's been 4064. My use goes back to that can style you have, from the DuPont days.
