IMR 4166 powder? for 223

Has anyone here tried this new IMR powder..I read the article about
it supposeingly good for 223. Simaler to 4064..Wondering how it
would perform with 77 or 80 grain sierra's.

Have not tried it for .223 , but did for 308 . It seemed a little slow compared to Varget or 8208XBR .

23g with a 60g vmax is working well for me. Pretty close to capacity.

thanks..Have a 500 yard shoot this Sunday...Right now I am doing good with cfe 223 and 80 gr sierras..Maybe after the match I will try the 4166..

I've used it in the 223. It works and was accurate, but I found even though it is a short grained powder, it's a bit bulky when pouring into the 223 case. I much prefer IMR 8208 XBR for the 223.

My buddy has been all about it lately. Told me I have to give it a try. Guess I will think about it because BLC2 isn't working for me. Just curious those of you who enjoy it are you running it in bolt or gas guns)
