Wondering if any of you have tried IMR 7977 in their 300 PRC loads? I understand this is supposed to be similar to H1000. I've got a jug on IMR 7977 I'm hoping to use with the 250 atip.

Thanks!

Gonna find pressure fast with a 250 and 7977.
Just grab some 200.2 bergers for that powder while you look for some slower dust.

Look at hodgdon load data for the 250 atip on 300prc. Best speed is us 869, which is the slowest burning powder there appears to be. So it looks like you need extremely slow powders for the 250 atip. I think the 7977 is a bit too fast to get top velocity.

Looks like I can find some US869.... maybe I'll pick some of that up to give a try.

This is a little late, but I loaded 75 gr of7977 using Berger 210gr VLDH and had a 1/2” MOA . Exact same set up w RL26 same MOA

7977 is discontinued. I don't think I ever chronoed it. I still have a box loaded to fireform brass but I got a 280 barrel a couple years ago and its mostly occupied my long action. I haven't messed with the wm much since.
