Hey guys I am looking for a meat slicer that will not piss the wife off when I buy it ($150-200 max). I have checked craigslist up and down but every time I find one worth buying they never answer your calls or emails. From reading reviews everyone says the really small ones don't have enough motor to work well so if you have one that works well please let me know. It will be used to slice jerky and sandwhich meat (roast beef, smoked turkey breast, etc) I cook on my Big Green Egg. I just talked her into a new .300 Weatherby for hunting so I have to watch how much I spend. I hunt and process all of my own meat so it will be used a decent amount but I am very good at taking care of my equipment so any reviews and suggestions would be great.

Thanks for the help

Tommy

Re: In need of meat slicer

I have used the LEM 7.5" slicer for a couple years now. I've used it on venison, antelope, duck and goose meat, slicing it all up for jerky. I've sliced completely thawed meat all the way to damn near completely frozen with it. About half frozen works the best. Anymore than that and the slicer does bog down a bit. If you're slicing thawed out sandwich meat, this will be more than powerful enough I'd say. You can usually find them on sale this time of year from Cabelas/Scheels etc for well less than $100.
