The MG3-SRA is back in stock and the cart on the website has been activated.

Thanks for all the support

For those that are planning to buy a Borka torque wrench tool, I have to say that I fully plan to black list the guy who makes them.

To all those who disagree with me: yes he is a talented guy who created a kick-ass torque wrench that I use extensively and have found to be superb. Yes, I found him personally likable and superbly competent in what he does.

All that not withstanding, when I ran into him during last SHOT, he thought I was 50 years old. There is no forgiveness for that. Not for another fifteen years or so.

ILya

P.S. Since there is always one guy out there with no sense of humor (and a lot of other people who do not get my specific sense of humor); I am joking about boycotting Boris.

Ilya,

After Boris told me I could do instructional YouTube videos wearing a Russian rabbit fur hat and mirror sunglasses and speak with a fake Russian accent "like your friend Koshkin" I think you should've left people in cognitive dissonance a little while longer.

Just a thought.

Thanks for the plug for this great product

Re: In stock: Borka Tools MG3 and MG3-SRA torque tool

Offical statement from me:

First of all, I like Ilya very much. When Scott and Ilya together hit me at the Shot Show w/o warning and demanded immediate attention, I defended myself the only way I could, and that is to strike back at the smaller guy of them two - Ilya. Because use of combat sambo was out of the question, I just stopped Ilya in his tracks by creating certain confusion about his age with use of verbal means. I felt Ilya was a good guy and will not kill me right away... While Ilya is pretty big guy, Scott is much bigger, so I've decided not to make any statement related to Scott's age, you know....better safe than sorry.

When I suggested to Scott to play "russian" in a movie, this was done by e-mail and at the moment of writting this e-mail, I was CUIORVing (CUIORV = communicating under influence of russian vodka). I hope this explains the weird nature of this idea for the video, and I appologize for the potential mental shock this idea could have caused to both of my good friends, Scott and Ilya.

Boris,

LOL!!! The old Jedi mind trick, brilliant.

Do not worry about CUIORV in email, much more dangerous is IPUIOEM (internet posting under influence of excessive microbrew) it is a disease of which I had to be cured in order to stay in business.

Russian Standard I hope, not that Stoly crap.

Re: In stock: Borka Tools MG3 and MG3-SRA torque tool

I agree 200%. I hate Stolichnaya, terrible taste, to say it mildly, stopped drinking it 15 years ago and I love Russian Standard, and also, Imperia. Recently, I developed respect for Sobeski vodka from Poland, which is, I think, is the best value out there at the moment.

Re: In stock: Borka Tools MG3 and MG3-SRA torque tool

Gotta love the Hide. It's amazing how a "in stock" post quickly turns into a vodka lesson from a couple of connoisseurs. I had no problem downing Stoli Kamikazes 15 years ago. Now I have to file away "Russian Standard" as a must try if I ever go down that path...

Allow me to muddy the waters even more: There are two versions of Russian Standard, regular and Platinum. Regular is good enough for daily swilling, but Platinum is top-tier. You can't go wrong either way and it can be hard to find the Platinum.

I think I better take the fifth...

Re: In stock: Borka Tools MG3 and MG3-SRA torque tool

Scott,

The science of drinking also includes the science of drink related selection of zakuska. Ask Ilya what it means.... Technique of zakuska is a whole new world for intelligent drinking related fun, which only of few choosen one in this country are familiar with.... I personally only remember around 120 different ways of doing it, while some pros can come up with a couple hundred more. One of those days I plan to start including a special user guide extension, detailing some top secret zakuska technology, with the standard MG driver user guide.

I didn't have a chance to try platinum, only standard siver/gray stuff.

To tell you the truth, the absolute best vodka I ever tried in my life was Black-n-White Smirnoff No21 Mellow Vodka. The one I've had was made in Russia. I've also seen identical stuff made in U.K., but didn't taste it. Of course, this particular Smirnoff has nothing to do with typical Red-n-White or Blue-n-White Smirnoff, which has a lot of room for improvement. That Mellow Vodka was so smooth, it was unreal.

Re: In stock: Borka Tools MG3 and MG3-SRA torque tool

Since this conversation has indeed turned to alcohol, I have to admit, that I do not drink vodka at all (yes, I know it does not fit the stereotype). I am bit of a connoisseur of fine scotch and cognac, which, under most circumstances do not require "zakuska" (although, there are some differing opinions on that as far as cognac goes).
As far as vodka goes, looking back at when I still was willing to drink that foul liquid, I can definitely see why you need some sort of a "zakuska" (which really just means appetizers of all sorts, both hot and cold) simply to kill the taste of vodka.
