Was wondering what company's make a good in swing vault door?

Got a friend thats putting a safe in and wants an in-swing because it is going to double as a storm shelter.

I know fort knox and browning have them and saw another I believe was called iron works. Want something that they cant grab a grinder or torch out of the shop and just cut through it.

Any other companies to look at? Thanks

I have one from American Security (AMSEC). They have several different sizes and will do customs as well.
I've heard good things about them, gonna download their catalog. Did you go with electronic lock or dial? He was worried about electronic but I think they've came along way. You can pm me if you'd rather. Thanks again

Check out Liberty Safe Company too, they're made here in the U.S. in Utah they've got in swing right models, and left models. I love their QC videos where they launch one of their vaults and it's still intact.

Whatever you do, look at the UL listings to get an idea of went the amsec costs what it does. They're usually the only company that gets all the testing done and has real ratings.

Amsec is okay. They're the entry level for these kinds of safes. Mosler and Diebold are the best but usually well out of range.

Is where it's at. Not cheap and their site says "luxury" now but if we're talking about the best that are within range... Look for scratch/dent, etc. These also will have similar ratings to Amsec but due to how ratings are done it's not uncommon for a safe to outperform the rating --sometimes significantly-- yet be just shy of the next rating. IMO Original has models that fall into this category though I can't prove it, however, if a competitively rated Amsec is compared to an Original, and it's obvious the Original is "tougher", then it follows it probably has proportional increase in performance. Think of Original as the Hensoldt to Amsec's Leupold. Both are good, both get the job done, one is better than the other. Just how it is.

Stick with combination dial lock and use a dual locking setup, I prefer a dial and a key but some folks like two dials. The key is very handy if going in and out of it a lot or if you need to allow someone else access but don't wanna give them the combination. You can change the code on those dial locks, and it's not that hard, but you do not wanna fuck it up doing so. Digital locks, well, use it regularly for a year (less if you have dirty fingers) and it'll only take 24 tries to open it up. Not a fan of those at all.

I got a VaultPro about a year ago. They were great to deal with. The door looks awesome.
