So I have discovered something and wonder if it affects accuracy enough to worry about.
I got a new toy for Christmas (who didn't) which is a Teslong bore scope. After hooking it up to my laptop I grabbed a 300BO AR barrel that was sitting on the shelf. What I noticed was when looking at where the rifling starts is inconsistency. Now it is a gun show barrel that I have no idea of the manufacture but I suspected that it was low end so I am not worried about it as I have since replaced it. So since the rifling is inconsistent I can imagine the it affects accuracy, the question I have is would this be significant or minor. I suspect at close distance not much issue but at longer distance it would become more pronounced.
This first picture shows the rifling starting at the beginning of the bore
The second picture shows the second rifling starting at near the beginning of the bore but less pronounced
The last picture shows the third rifling starting much farther into the bore. The next two where similar.
