Indianapolis, the next city under attack.

Do these states have laws allowing municipalities making their own gun laws? Here in Utah about the only "ordnance" cities can pass is "no discharging of firearms in city limits".

Article says IN has preemption.

Anyone know more about this?
"Sandlin said the recent downtown rally against gun violence convinced him and fellow Republicans that the right to bear arms is under attack and therefore a counter-rally in favor of the Second Amendment will be held at the statehouse April 14."

I just moved to Indy... hope I don't have to pack up already...

FTFA:

“Proposal 112 is a special resolution which urges the Indiana General Assembly to support a ban on assault weapons and high capacity magazines,” said the east side Democrat. “What does the community want to do about guns and violence in our community? This is a process that will begin the process of discussion on that very issue which is guns and violence in our community. Start with the assault weapon as a starting point, not an ending point, but a starting point on qualifications, interviews, what kind of person should be allowed to obtain a weapon, background checks, etc. etc.”

Indiana law prohibits cities, towns, mayors and councils from passing their own gun ordinances, so Oliver’s plea would first need to pass out of the council, gain Mayor Joe Hogsett’s signature, and then find favor in the Republican-controlled state legislature at the other end of Market Street.

Not.
Gonna.
Happen.

He can't keep house help, much less appoint people....
He has failed miserably in that respect in his first year acting like a spoiled tantrum pitching 3 year old

Why hasn't he appointed more Federal judges to fill the numerous vacancies that exist. Seems strange to me. There may not be another SCOTUS vacancy in his term.
I believe a lot of them are being held up by the Senate, in the hopes of changing the composition of the Senate in the midterm.

Kacich lied to my face about supporting 2A. He will not. He told me, to my face, a few years ago that he would vote against a gun control bill. In person. Face-to-face... he lied. He voted for it. He is a liar and a scumbag.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Kasich is a beady eyed liar. He has been, for a long time now, doing a whole host of crap that has hurt hundreds if not thousands of people with his privatizing ideas (my wifes job included) and now this. Why Ohio keeps him in... my wife, her Co-workers and I just can't figure that one out.

This needs to happen at the state level which, thankfully, doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell. We just got Sunday alcohol sales here a month ago....

Like everywhere else the problem here is the citiots who know nothing about guns and have no experience outside the inner city Indy shootings. They move out to the rural down near my property and scream on the village facebook page every time they hear a gunshot in the surrounding countryside....during deer season....

There must be a dozen home ranges within a 2 mile radius of mine...

^^^ Same thing here... faggots moved into my area with their $5M McMansions... and every Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights they are blowing off fireworks at 10 PM trying to be all cool and rural. But they call the police for every gunshot during the day.... they are scared and triggered.

%$#k them.

Same here.
They keep getting "mini-farms" and moving out here. Every little thing scares them then they bitch about smells, snow, gunshots and every other little thing. Some of their places look like stadiums with all the lights. Dark scares em too.

Same here too. I found out through one of our local cops (we went to high school together). He retired from being a State cop and took a local position. I was talking to him and said that it should be a little easier being local and in the town we both grew up in. He just shook his head and said you have no idea, he said he is always going out more then he ever thought because of these inner city and big city (Pittsburgh) pieces of shit moving into the country. We live in a mostly farming town, 1 stoplight. Good thing is we both feel the same way, Get the F Out... and he told me when they call and he responds he says "so.... what do you want me to do about it?".

Pennsylvania has state preemption, but it won't save us from our socialist Governor.

You mean Bloomberg's stooge . That election was purchased straight up .
Should be a Felony to interfere in the internal politics or election process of a state .The Clinton Foundation , Bloomberg and Soros have been prancing around buying States and the whole Country for that matter .

That ain't no shit. Out of respect for my neighbors I don't fire any centerfire only subsonic 22long rifle at my place which is very rural. Early this year I shot about 250 rounds of 22lr in the span of two hours and that night at 11:00pm some douche monkey stops in front of my house and launches two of some sort of firework mortor over my house that blows up literally over my roof sounding like a good damn 50 cal. I go sit on the front porch for 20 min afterwards and see a neighbor about 1/3 mile away pulling into their house with no lights on......hmmmm makes ya wonder don't it....

Any poultry farms up there? A few loads of litter when the wind's blowing right would make any fields you have grow great. Introduce them to the country proper.

What I find comical about some of these localities suggesting ordinances around 'assault weapon' bans is that, at least in this case, they are places which have historically very low levels of gun related crime/violence, and especially not the kind that involves any type of semi automatic black rifle.
