I've tried numerous times to contact Jason Christian at JEC Customs regarding a refund he owes me for a brake I returned (with his approval) five months ago. His phone goes to voicemail and he doesn't return voicemails, emails or messages through his website. I'm posting this on several forums to see if someone that knows him personally might know if he had some health or other personal issue or if there is a way to reach him. I've dealt with him in the past and he always seemed to be a good guy but after five months I'm beginning to wonder.

Thanks,

Dave

There was a page either here or Scout that was pages and pages long regarding the same thing. Apparently this is par for course and he's done this kind of thing a lot. Pretty sure you won't see a refund but I hope otherwise.

You done fucked up.

Best thing you can do is make a fake email or phone # and express interest in buying a brake. Get him on the phone then confront him.

Not gonna do anything other than make his butt pucker a bit heh

This is the first time I've had a problem in over 30 years of buying and selling guns and equipment. I'll see if I can find the past thread involving JEC and see if that gives me a clue as to how to proceed. I'd still like to give him the benefit of the doubt---

My refund request was two years ago give or take. Do not give him the benefit of the doubt. You've been screwed, no two ways about it.

When the voice of experience speaks, it's wise to listen. ;)Still hard to believe he has a 2+ year track record of screwing people and remains in business. He essentially promises you a refund and when you return the brake he keeps it and your money. You would think the word would get around and he would have no more screwees, I mean customers.

I never got the brake, promised over and over that it was right there, in a box, ready to ship. What a fucker! Am surprised he's even in business and you got a brake from him. Better options out now, and cheaper, with great customer service. Muzzlebrakesandmore.com

Well, it's now been almost two weeks since I originally posted the request for info on Jason Christian and JEC Customs here and on other long range forums. Since then I've not received a single positive comment, or any info that might allow me to contact him. The negative comments, though, are enough to make me realize that my faith in him was misplaced - he has a track record going back at least several years of failing to refund customers payments. There are several threads in various forums regarding this as well a 20+ complaints with the Better Business Bureau which rates his business as "F". As others have said, I'm surprised he's still in business! Caveat emptor!! ("Buyer beware" for non-Latin speakers):(

Well I'm glad I crossed this thread. My experience when purchasing my first Jec brake was terrible but the brake did show up and the quality was good. I was about to purchase a second one for the new build and just deal with the bullshit but I won't now

Placed an order last month on the 22nd for some data card holders before reading this thread. Got a little worried after not seeing anything for a couple weeks. Called my bank to dispute it yesterday. And look what shows up today......

Same story here....ordered a brake 9/22 and was quoted 4 weeks. I figured no big deal should arrive same time as my Manners stock. 10 weeks, 5 phone calls, several emails and online contact form, absolutely no communication from the guy. What a joke

I too have had a horrible experience with this JEC Customs. Ordered my brake back in May and patiently waited about 8 weeks for it to show up. Then I started calling him and he assured me it would ship with the next batch in a few weeks. Here is it December and I still haven't received my brake. He stopped returning my calls months ago. I called my credit card (Chase Bank Visa) and luckily they reimbursed me. How does this guy stay in business?! I'm definitely filing a complaint with the BBB but not sure what else can be done other than warn other people. Maybe the Precision Rifle Blog can add a disclaimer to their muzzle brake article about the horrible customer service of this merchant...

BBB can do nothing other than send an inquiry to him - which he ignores. They then close the complaint. Best thing is - if you're foolish enough to do business with him - to file with your CC company within the 60-90 days they allow. Unfortunately, I tried to work with him to the point that I no longer could use that route to get reimbursed.

There should be some method of warning people on the forum about scamsters like this guy who have a long track record of screwing people. A few dis-satisfied customers are sometimes understandable but this guys has dozens over years. I really wonder how he stays in business---

Get in touch with Scott at live oak accuracy. He had a good amount of the original jec brakes on hand a few years back and has also made an updated version that is self timing.
