Can someone please give me advise on a decent range in Las Vegas? I will have my own vehicle and I will be shooting a 300wm.

Will I need to register weapons?

Thank you
David

David,

I'll recommend American Shooters on Arville. They don't have a 100 yard range- I think 50 for the rifles, but can take the 300 wm. And it's air conditioned. It is currently 100+ here in beautiful Las Vegas. There is also the 702 range. Haven't been there yet, but also heard it is very nice. john

The Clark County Shooting Complex on Decatur is pretty nice; stringently managed and cheap at $7 per day but only 200 yrd range.
Desert Hills Shooting Club is okay, but has the same limitation on range (200 yrds) and costs $20 bucks for non-residents, $10 for residents. Located off 95 on the way to Boulder City (bout a 30 min drive from Las Vegas proper).

The only Long Range places I know of require membership and dues (but for certain days).

Boulder Rifle and Pistol Club (Boulder Rifle & Pistol Club: Home). Non member on weekends, Tuesdays, Thursdays and holiday Mondays. If you join, it's $125 the first year and $75 each year after; dawn to dusk passcode access and nighttime shooting with 2 days notice to the club. If you just want to shoot there as a non member, you pay (IIRC) $10 per person and $5 for a target stand. For your rifle shooting, the silhouette range is ideal - steel targets between 200m and 800m.

There's also Desert Sportsman's - its closer to town (just west of the Red Rock Casino), but AFAIK, you need to have a club member sign you in & you pay $5. A friend of mine belongs there and it's 5 minutes from my house, but my membership is at BRPC. IMHO, BRPC is worth the 45 minute drive.

Of course there are tons of places to shoot in the desert free of charge (BLM land) - help keep it clean & take out more than you brought.
