info on Sig Blaser Tactical in 308?

Re: info on Sig Blaser Tactical in 308?

It's a very accurate, lightweight rifle that is a lot of fun to shoot, IMO. The hammer forged barrel will last forever. I have a 308 and 223, both of which shoot lights out. The biggest downside is the lack of a standard scope mounting scheme. If the rifle offered to you has a Picatinny rail attached to the barrel, then go for it. My Blasers have the saddle mounts, which limit the scopes that will fit the rifle. I'm using Leupold Mark 4s on both. The lightweight makes them amenable to field carry.

Yes, they sell pretty easily. I have five R93's and the prototype K-95 Stutzen.

But if you shoot it, you will not sell it...

I love the smoothness of the bolt action and its just pull and push.

barrels are kinda expensive and you have to use facotory sig barrels.

When you figure the cost of gunsmithing and fitting, the long barrel life and drop in ease of the Blaser barrels, they are very economical to shoot. I have a 223Rem with over 6,000 rounds and it shows less than 1mm of throat erosion.

uh mmmmmm, what was it ...some years back here on the hide someone posted some pictures of some poor slob that got boogered up in a really bad way.....blood , cuts ,facial disfigurement, every broken bones....everthing just short of altering his DNA when one of these guns let loose and gernaded...with factory ammo if i remember correctly.....could have been a .308

anyway ....as i prattle on with my institutional memory of this long ago post........you could not GIVE me one of them.

but i'm strange that way

Re: info on Sig Blaser Tactical in 308?

Here is mine, Blaser Tactical2 .308 with custom muzze break

I put a left side bolt face, this way brass will eject in the bag on the left side of the rifle, no more dirty or lost brass;)

If the weather is good and the shooter does its part, this rifle will shoot around .25 moa all day long (target shot at 200 yards)
Top left target was to zero the scope...

1500 rounds fired and zero throat erosion

Re: info on Sig Blaser Tactical in 308?

Correct me if i'm wrong. Thats not the tactical version. Thats a picture of blaser R93 LRS-1. Its almost identical to the R93 LRS2. The only difference is the stock.

Re: info on Sig Blaser Tactical in 308?

Yep you are right, instead of N140 he took N340, same load as with 140, so the gun blows back. S+++ happens.

But the gun on the photo is a Blaser R93 Tactical CISM.

Its the preLRS with 10shot magazine and aluminum stock.

I bought one for myself 15years ago in .308 and its pretty good, especially up to 600m.
But you need handloaded ammo for best results. Mine has now something over 5000 rounds through it and its still precise.

In the three know incidents of R93's coming apart, multiple shots were fired before the actions failed with the overloaded ammo. All three involved 300 Weatherby chambered rifles if I remember correctly and two had Bullseye pistol powder in them. The minimum number of overloaded shots before failure was seven in one case and thirteen in another. Well publish in Europe and the court records are out there. Blaser won all three cases.
