In general where do you find the information about the primer pocket size (small or large) of a specific brass? I'm new to reloading and am trying to find the correct primers for Norma 300 win mag brass.

Should I use small magnum primers or large magnum primers for Norma 300 win mag brass?

Once you load for a while you’ll be able to tell small or large by looking at them. You could likely look at Norma’s website for detailed info or google it. But to save you time... you want large rifle magnum primers. In general smaller short action calibers such as 223 etc use small rifle primers and larger calibers (more powder to ignite) use large rifle primers. There are exceptions so asking is not a bad ideal to prevent a headache of picking up the wrong ones. For example on 6.5 creedmoor and 308 Winchester you can get small or large primer pockets from different brass manufacturers.

Thanks for the reply, I'll remember that rule of thumb!
