I know there have been a lot of good options for us lately when it comes to affordable good scopes, so I wanted to give some feedback on my experience. First of all, I've been looking at these for 2 years, then I'd look through razor gen ii and the ATACR, then the XRS ii because I have an elite tactical. I decided to buy the Cronus BTR based on their good reviews.
The disclaimer, I only have about 100 rounds through my CTR with the Cronus as the new optic, as I just removed an older Bushnell Elite Tactical hoping to upgrade to a scope with a zero stop and better glass. I got it yesterday from Camera Land NY (thanks for the great deal @gr8fuldoug - the guy went out of his way to provide good cs to me as a hide member) yesterday in the mail, mounted and zero'ed at a local match today and shot the match, then checked my dope afterward against the ballistic arc table. All of that was good to go after getting zero at 93.5 yards this morning.
The tracking was spot on from 451 yards to 1096. With good MV data, the ballistics arc program gave data that made impacts based on the adjustments done with the turrets. All targets were about 1 to 2 moa. KYL was 1 moa to 1/4 moa or so (if I heard right), but i didnt get that far. My fault only.
The features are great for the price. Great turrets, very tactile, easy zero stop (I set it in 2 minutes at most). The glass was very good and clear. Very comparable to the XRS II and Razor Gen II's I've handled. The only thing I could say to make it a better product would be a throw lever integrated and caps, but hey, it's a great value for the robustness of the system in my view. Mirage and heavy haze in a 100 degree day was no problem, and neither was CA. The turrets were the best surprise to me based on others' comments in the past. They were really nice. Additionally, the reticle is excellent and was easy to get used to. The small floating cross hair is awesome and your eye is naturally drawn to it as an aiming point. I hope this helps those who are considering this optic, and ill get some pics through the optic later today.
