insuring firearms,who do you use

Re: insuring firearms, who do you use

We farm, so i use Farm Bureau. the rates are pretty good, IMO, at one dollar per hundred in value. 3200 dollar gun, with scope and accessories, costs me 32 a year in premium. This covers theft, fire, leaving it on the tailgate and running down the road with it, etc... Deductible shows to be 0 in my policy, but it may be 25 dollars. Thats what it is on the cell phones we have with them. FB isn't perfect, but they do pretty right on guns and electronics insurance. YMMV

NRA Endorsed Insurance programs.

Also moved from Optics section as it's not optics related.

On top of the normal fire and theft, mine are insured with a rider to my regular homeowners insurance. I pay 1% for unscheduled no fault insurance.

The 1% is of whatever amount I pick to insure. For the mathematiclly challenged, $10,000 worth of coverage costs $100 per year.

Unscheduled means I did not have to schedule my firearms, I just pick the maximum amount I want to insure.

No fault means my loss is covered regardless of the loss being my fault or not. For example, if I drop a rifle into a deep lake it is covered. Or if I blow it up, it is still covered.

I also have similar coverage for my camera equipment, which is much more likely to incur a user induced loss.
