Suppressors Integrally Suppressed Upper - Gemtech or .. ?

I'm getting itchy for an integrally suppressed upper.
The Gemtech appears to be everything I'd want - monocore, easy takedown, titanium everything. Nice handguard.
So should I look at anything else before I commit to the Gemtech?

Thunder Beast makes one as well. Only comes is 5.56. Seems reasonably priced to me, but I’ve never used one.

Gemtech is the only integral suppressed system that passed the recent (2 years ago) SOCOM request for integral suppressed gas gun system.
But, that being said...with Gemtech being acquired by S&W things have changed in regards to quality and service IMO.

Yeah, do some digging. IIRC, their CS has gone down the shitter. I think most of the info I saw was here, on the suppressor forum. From what little I can recall, it sounded like a real dumpster fire........Enough that I am not interested in Gemtech/S&W products.

I think they’re listing their specs differently, and TB is including the upper receiver in their length. Both are 10.5” barrels, the gemtech has a 5.5” can, and the TB’s is 7”. So really it’s 16” vs 17.5” barrels. Maybe I’m missing something, but no way is TB’s barrel 24”.

The Thunderbeast DSU is a 10.3" barrel with their 6.9" suppressor pinned on top. 17.2" effective barrel length overall.

I read OAL 24 and they mean the entire upper. Now that's better.

I have no experience with them, but Suppressed Weapon Systems has an integrally suppressed upper that looks interesting.

No problem - I’d love to get something integrally suppressed, but it’s going to be a long time before I can afford one. If you decide to get an integrally suppressed upper, let us know which one you go with and how you like it.

YHM has one in 300BLK. Not sure about construction, uses a Ti Phantom suppressor.

Tucker I have a SDU from TBAC when your shoot it with the 5.56 SBR load from Hornady it is pretty damn good, I had to send mine back unfortunately because it would not cycle. But the good thing about TBAC is they make it right and are quick to respond, like at 2000hrs. Thanks Ray

I have had the S&W (5.56) for 6+ months now, and have fired around 500 rounds through it. The only malfunctions it has had was when my son was firing it. He is a little guy 55 pounds, so I think it was a limp wrist type problem not the gun. after I had purchased it and sent the paper work off I read up on S&W customer service. I hope in my case I have good luck with them or better yet never have to deal with them. Having said all that I do not regret the purchase.

I've wanted one for awhile, but with the rise in pistol braces I can't bring my self to buying one. I just have a 8.5" 300blk pistol that wears a can full time. Gives you a little more versatility too, can put an AGB on it and regulate the gas to make it run a little smoother.

I finally started using a 556TD demo can the other day. Debating having it pinned on the seekins 10.5" bbl. I didn't notice excessive gas in the face, I feel it was such that a Radians vented charging handle might be enough to divert it, plan on trying it or just throw a bootleg adjustable carrier in it. The can has good deep tone, especially at the ear which I feel, purely antidotal, is a result of baffles vs monocore. I doubt I will ever realize the need to fully utilize the serviceability options it has but it's peace of mind, clean the baffles, rotate and rock on... regardless, Integral anything is badass
