Hey guys, I have been reading threads on this forum a long time, and there is quite a pile of amazing knowledge here! Thanks again for such a great forum.
I am interested in getting some longer distance shooting time on the range, and was wondering if anyone here shoots in North Texas (DFW area). I am based out of Wylie, TX (north Dallas) and it seems like most of the ranges here are 100 yards with the exception of the newly opened 1k yard range in McKinney (which I haven't had the change to try out yet).
From what I am reading F-T/R seems to be a good place to get some practice and be able to compete against myself and others, are there any matches in N. Texas? If anyone here lives nearby and would like to help me get started in F Class, maybe we could make a few range trips together sometime.
Since I am new, a quick about me any my equipment: I am a software engineer, but have been hunting most of my life and have gotten more seriously into shooting the past few years. I currently shoot everything from a S&W 586 to Remington 700s. The longer range rifle I am considering shooting would be my Remington 700 SPS Tactical .308 sitting in a AICS with a Timney trigger and some hand loads that I have developed for over time for this rifle (probably need to be re-turned for greater than 100 yards).
