Dirty Tricks in Syria's Civil War - Spiked Ammo - YouTube

I have never heard of this sort of thing before. I really doubt any of this stuff makes it for commercial sales of any kind, but it still makes me a little leery of cheap surplus foreign ammo.

It seems to me that the offending parties would do more damage supplying their enemy with GOOD gunpowder, bullets, primers etc, and a progressive press. Make sure its tightgroup too. : /

Interesting that it was C.J. Chivers that did this piece. He wrote a book called "The Gun." Easily the best and most complete history of the development of the AK-47 and its impact on the world stage that I've ever read. Worthwhile read if you come across it, and want something far beyond the typical textbook manual of this weapon.

Project Eldest Son - a psy-ops escapade with lots of mis-information leaked to both sides in Nam. Quite clever, actually.

That is an absolutely fascinating read! That is what I love about the people on this forum, a wealth of information.

I don't even remember how I stumbled across that video, but that combined with a discussion on arfcom's reloading forum on "handgun kabooms" made me think of the connection with this form of sabotage and the thing we as reloaders fervently work to avoid (as in over pressure loads). OCD helps with that I am sure. The rebel's shoot from the hip mentality would probably yeild devastating results if someone gave them a progressive press and tightwad to load with (for pistol for example) considering how many ways you can screw a load up. No sabotage necessary!

But I got a great history lesson here that I wasn't expecting. Awesome.
