Hello just wondering if anyone knows of a internal action wrench that will fit a Howa 1500. The action has already been re barreled so I don’t need the clamp style to break a factory one loose. Was hoping to find one of the same style that I use for my impact action. I had the howa trued up and rebarreled and I have a extra barrel chambered that I was hoping to be able to switch like I’m doing with my impact. The impact action wrench is super easy to use and get a torque wrench on.
Only thing I’ve been able to find is the clamp on styles that say they’ll fit. I doubt most people do this with howas so there probably not well advertised but someone’s got to make one.

Thanks for any help

I'm in the same boat as nvgunner - have always used the heavy duty Brownells action wrench with the M70 top to work on Howas, but would really like to have a rear-entry wrench for the regular Howa 1500, and another smaller one for the Howa Mini action. I bought special rear entry action wrenches for my BAT 3L & 3LL actions, as well as for the Vudoo V-22 .22RF actions, and wouldn't be without them, even though they cost quite a bit more than the Davidson wrenches I've got for M700, Savage, Stolle Panda, etc.

I couldn’t find one myself, so I made one. As many rifles and barreled actions as Howa is selling, I’m surprised nobody has taken it up.

So after searching around for a few days I kept coming across a guy named pbike257 on accurate shooters that makes them for any action. I can’t vouch for how well it’s made or dealing with him yet but It seems like quite a few people there have delt with him. So I’m going to give it a go

I emailed him at [email protected]
And got a real quick reply stating they have made them for the howa before so it would be 105$
And they can make them for any action but if it’s one they haven’t done it would be 125$ And they would need the bolt which they will get back to you quickly.
And a 4-5 week lead time Due to needing enough orders to get a minimum amount done where they do the heat treating. I believe he just does this on the side.
They offer them with either a t handle or a recessed area on the end for a 1/2” drive.

Hope that helps. I will let you guys know how it looks when it shows up.

If I had a Howa 1500 I'd just make another wrench like these:

One's for a M700, another for a Pierce Engineering and another for a BAT. I use aluminum so that if there's some crud in there I missed it'll prevent marring the raceway. I use a 3/8" extension with a nylon sleeve to protect the rear of the raceway(s). On ~.700" diameter raceways I find a Craftsman 12mm socket fits in there fine.

I’m sorry I forgot about this thread. I did get it in I’ve only used it once since I got it but I’m happy with it. It’s seems to be of good quality and worked like it should the time I used it. It did take quite awhile to get but he was up front that it would so no complaints. It fits the action great.
