Well I've been doing a lot of research on accuracy out of rimfires and I landed here. I've combed through plenty of great info here. I'm just a squirrel hunter looking to squeeze maximum accuracy out of my 22's at 50 yards. Sometimes shots do happen further than that and I'm always looking to learn what my rifle will do at longer distances. The tighter I can be on the bench the more I can be off in the wood and still make an accurate and lethal hit. I am finding I do like to shoot from the bench more now, but that can become costly.
I mainly hunt with my suppressed 452 now, as it became legal to hunt suppressed Oct. of 2013. Over the next 3 months I'll be working the rest of my 452's for accuracy for the upcoming season. I hope to continue to learn as much as possible and see if I can get better at my technique. The suppressed 452 has recently been pillar and glass bedded and is sighted in with Eley subsonic. My idea is that if I can hit inside a quarter at 50 yards I can put a squirrel in the bag, however I'd like to always hit inside a penny. Here are is my last shooting session with Eley. I made no adjustments to the scope, but did install a DIP sear to remove all creep. I will probably in the next session make an adjustment to come to the center of the target.
