Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

Hahaha, yes, a 7.62x39 bolt, same bolt face as the grendel, my bad for not clarifying. I just need a gas block roll pin, and I will shoot it, and take some pictures from different angles and some of the brass to compare.

Thanks for the compliments, this has been a long time coming.

Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

Debo, nice stick. Very much like my Grendel. VERY interested in what you get with the 123's. I have a switch block and wonder what it could push with the gas off... Please keep us informed on what it does.

Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

definately need a range report. Seems as though the 6mmAR Turbo 40° does plenty well feeding wise, this should be similar, if not very slightly better with the wider neck diameter. I am not anticipating any troubles, but that remains to be seen. I will definately post some accuracy reports when fireforming, and then will post some results when I get a load worked up

Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

Of all places, I was happily surprised when I found the tapered pins for the gas block at the local hardware store. They also have stock to cut the pins to length for the gas tube. I love it when I don't have to pay more for shipping and handling than the parts cost. Just drive to the local hardware store.

Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

if you keep an eye on this thread, you will soon discover that this is merely a ruse, and I will drag it on and on, pretending that I am going to go shoot this weekend, then something will come up, and it will be the next weekend. Sooner or later, I will find an acceptable target to photoshop, and someone will have some extra 6mmAR Turbo brass that I can use to show in the pictures. I will fabricate some chronograph data that may or may not be even feasible. Then someone will challenge my results, and scream foul. I will respond by saying they can take their internet shooting and shove it, as I have been doing this longer than anyone here, and while I haven't done much tactical style shooting I have been reloading and shooting other disciplines for the better part of 3 decades. Pretty soon, someone will say prove it, and we don't want to see a target either, we want you to come out to a shoot and show us what you've got. Of course by that time, I will either get really belligerent and have offended everyone, or perhaps I will come down with an illness or some sort of financial disaster and be unable to attend. But, I am going to milk this picture for as long as I can....

Re: Introducing the 6.5DD....

I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this. I'm only getting 2730 fps from my 22" barreled grendel shooting 108 scenars and I'm pushing it pretty hard.

What bolt did you get? That the weakest link in the grendel and the first thing to let you know that you are pushing too hard.
