Description:
The intended audience for this course is shooters with prior knowledge of marksmanship fundamentals and strong weapons handling and manipulation skills. Relying on this former knowledge, students will be evaluated on their performance at basic shooting tasks and then pushed to execute and evaluate the skills necessary to perform successfully in a firearm engagement.


Topics include Invictus diagnostic evaluation Shooting on the move Barricades Alternate shooting positions Gunfighting in kit Target transitions Performance on Demand competitions Zeroing and Ballistics Training with a combat mindset Kit Set-up


Format: Flat range, lecture, and discussion, physically demanding courses of fire (be prepared to shoot a full day in full kit


Prerequisites: Firm grasp of the fundamentals, an open mind, good attitude, thick skin

Here is some information on the instructors of Invictus:



J.D. served in the US Army’s 3rd Special Forces Group Ft. Bragg, NC. His combat experience includes multiple combat deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) Iraq and Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) Afghanistan. As a Special Forces Operational Detachment Alpha (ODA) team member, he has trained and led the Iraqi Special Forces and Afghan Commandos in combat. J.D.’s real world experience includes planning, advising, and leading unilateral and joint force assaults, combat patrols, and reconnaissance missions. J.D. has extensive experience training the United States and indigenous forces in small unit tactics, combat skills, and foreign and domestic weapon systems. As an instructor J.D. has served as TigerSwan's Director of Training and Lead Instructor for Northern Red, where he has developed a reputation as one of the top instructors for combat marksmanship and tactics.








Tom Spooner

Tom is a 21-year veteran of the US Army, 15 of which were spent in the U.S. Army Special Operations Command as a Green Beret, earning a near-peerless reputation as an Operator and Sniper.



Tom’s uncanny ability to teach Close Quarters Battle (CQB), Sniper Operations and high-stress decision making can be directly traced to over 40 months of Direct Action combat experience in Special Forces Operational Detachment - Delta, spanning a decade of continuous deployments. Using 21 years of tactical experience and real-world execution at the master level, Tom brings the ability to deliver precise, efficient and effective instruction. He is one of the most experienced and qualified tactics instructors currently in the private sector.
