Rifle Scopes Ior 6x24x56 or vortex viper pst 6x24

Personally I would go with the Viper PST. Best warranty in the business and the reticle options are WAY better with the Vortex.

I have looked at a FFP 6-24 IOR with the MOA reticle and the reticle to me seemed like a joke. It was really hard to figure out how to use the reticle subtensions. On top of that the glass to me wasn't too impressive, I would say a notch below my Nightforce NXS.

I have not used a Vortex, but the glass quality on the 7 IORs I've used has been on par with the Schmidt&Bender 4-16 PMII and the US Optics ST10 that I've had. The reticles are calibrated in either MOA or MIL in the FFP models with the knobs matching accordingly. The floating dot in the center is fine enough that it roughly covers a beer can at 1000 yards on 20 power (I tried it last week) and image quality stays superb up to 20-22x and loses a little sharpness at 24 but not bad. It is much better than the 8-32x56 Nightforce that I had and has a slight edge on my 3.5-15x50 NF in image quality. The internal adjustment quality on my IORs have been flawless so far, some issues with the older 3-18x42 models for some folks but that has been resolved. Price wise, a second focal plane NF can be had at the same level, but the IOR is a very good scope in FFP for its price as well. I hope this helps and good luck.

There is a night and day difference between the Viper and IOR. IOR dominates on pretty much any area you compare it against the PST. Optically speaking the IOR gives you both a better clarity and a much better light transmission. The PST actually even becomes a bit fuzzy on the higher magnifications. The reticle is actually very nice on the PST but the IOR's is not at all a bad one, on the contrary, it delivers very well.
The IOR actually competes against Razor HD so you kinda get the picture.

I agree....there is no comparison. I have a RAZOR and and IOR and they are both steller. The Viper PST is a step below both of these scopes, however you pay for this difference.

Look like I'm leaning toward the ior . Reveiws have been good for both but I know the extra dollars will put a scope a step up in most circumstances.

If you were going to spend the extra coin on the IOR I would highly recommend you look at the Vortex Razor 5-20 HD. Support the companies that support us!

I know Mile High Shooting has a deal where you can get the Vortex 5-20HD with a Spuhr mount included basically for free.

Vortex Optics: Razer HD: 5-20x50mm - Mil-Radian Turrets - w/ SPUHR MOUNT!! - Mile High Shooting Accessories

Excellent choice! I don't own any Vortex products but I know they do a lot for the shooting sports so I always try to recommend them as I know their products and support are outstanding.
