I recently posted on this site awhile that I wanted to get my 3.5X18X50 cleaned, checked out, just get a general clean bill of heath on it. A fellow named Paul McCoy from around Dallas got back with me stating he did that kind of thing for IOR and worked with VAL. I called VAL to inquire about this guy and VAL confirmed that Paul was GTG.

I has set the zero stop on it and when I did I noticed the turrets did not turn as easily as before, so I sent it off to Paul. Eight days later I got it back in great working order. Paul said I had tightened up the screws to much when setting the zero stop. He said he checked over the whole scope and every thing was good to go.

I took it out to the range yesterday to re-zero and re-set the zero stop. Now that I know what I'm doing everything went awesome. Here is a 10 shot group at 100yds that I shot yesterday. It measured right at .90".

Just wanted to let anyone living down in Texas or down in this area that should you need anything you can contact Paul McCoy. He is GTG.

Did he do this for warranty? I have an IOR 6-24x50 I am getting ready to send off to get checked for fuzzy image after shots fired.

No, I got my scope used. He just volunteered to do it. Didn't charge anything. I paid to get the scope there, he paid to get it back. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

He said he would be at "shot" this week helping Val. Depending on the problem he probably does do some warranty work, but you need to contact him to be sure.

Op said they told him his zero stop screws were too tight causing that.

Exactly, I had set the zero stop. And almost immediately noticed that the turrets were hard to turn. Sent the scope off to Paul. Eight days later he sent it back in perfect working order. He said I set the screws to tight and that caused the turrets to be hard to turn. They work great now!!
