I have an IOR Valdada 3.5-18x50 and I really dig it. It's tough, and has all the goodies one could want in a reliable scope. But I'm coming to the conclusion that it's too much scope for my 6.5 Grendel AR and am looking for something smaller.

I'd like to hear from anyone with any experience with the 2.5-10x and see if it's something I might want to consider trading for.

I have the spartan 2-12 and love it. It has the turret calibrated for 168g 308 which works great for my rig. Not sure how it would do for the grendel. As far as optics go it has everything I need - great glass and reticle (MP-8), reliable tracking, and perfect zoom range for my 308 semi.
I think it weighs around 22oz, not too heavy but there are lighter options.

I have IOR 2.5x10 in FFP and SPF.

My 60 year old eyes are not going to do much with the FFP 2.5 power. I can read the hatch marks, but it is like looking at a column of marching ants at 10'.

Anyone who comes over to my house can trade for the FFP.
The SFP is a keeper.

I just ordered a 2.5-10x42 FFP and the new exposed turrets. It's seems to have all the features I am looking for in a mid-range scope (getting rid of the burris xtr 1.5-6). It has the FFP, Mil/Mil, only 18oz, illuminated reticle.

I was looking at the nightforce, but couldn't find a reticle I was happy with in the 2.5-10, and it didn't have the FFP option.
