Why would I or anyone else listen to someone about a scope that they have never owned? not to mention the fact that why would someone comment on a scope they have never owned?

I have owned IOR's, others here have owned IOR's, and we know better. If they have turned their quality around that much you wouldn't still hear issues and more people would use them. Common sense tells you they aren't that good.

If you want to believe you own the best scope there is, fine whatever helps you sleep at night. There's homos with 1990 Toyota camrys with a fart can and a wing that thinks they drive the best car on the road but most know better. The moment you go out in public and make false statements that everybody else knows is bullshit then you make yourself look like a fucking retard and everybody is pointing and laughing at you like there's a shart running down your leg. If you're happy with your scope, say that. If you haven't had any problems with it, say that. But stick to the facts, don't make bullshit claims that you can't back up, it just makes you look stupid.

Seriously??? I beginning to think the statement about you being mentally challenged might be spot on. YOU have said that IOR is the best bar none in effect saying it's better than, Nightforce, Schmidt and Bender, Kahles, US Optics, Steiner and every other high end scope out there but yet YOU have admitted having no experience with them??

This sight has 100 000 members and 12-13 have a IOR that said they're happy with and that's great but that's a minuscule percent. Look in a thread about any of the other manufacturers and see how many people reply is those there are 1000's of members with other scopes that are happy with them many of which have used IOR and have an actually basis for comparison that aren't talking out their ass. You have no experience with any other high end scopes so stop trying to make out like you do or that the IOR is better.

How do you know IOR is better if you've never owned the scopes you're claiming it's better than???

If I ever get the opportunity to use another brand of scope and feel it is better than the IOR then that scope will be deemed the best in the world bar none.

a rifle and scope is a personal thing, a stock that fits me may not fit you, a calibre I like to shoot and be successful with may be different to the one everyone else likes. .........you took the words right out'a my mouth.

The difference is i'm not claiming what I choose to shoot to be better than anything else. My new rifle is and AI my new scope is a Kahles are they good bits of kit absolutely are they the best bar none?? Nope but i'm happy with my choices and that's what matters. I can't say Kahles is better than say Steiner because i've not used a Steiner, I have shot and owned, Nightforce, S&B, Leupold MK4's, Vortex Razor HD, Bushnell, Sightron and have time behind a bunch of others that didn't belong to me what other high end optics have you owned to quantify your "best bar none" statement?

Obviously you don't see my point. I have never had a gen 4 and have never claimed to nor have I commented on its function.

I know common sense is probably hard for you but if you try really hard you might be able to understand this so lets try... IOR is known as shit... Most if not all of IOR's products are shit... Why would just one model made from the same quality parts, designed by the same people, and assembled under the same roof somehow be a good product and the rest are shit?

Its not so much about Gen2 vs Gen3 vs Gen4, there is a stigma here on the hide that revolves around quality issues surrounding IOR. This comes from many here that have owned them and the stories read by those that don't own them, many only (clearly) know what they read.

I would not blame anyone for feeling that way. But some think that because they got burned on an earlier model product that they must tell everyone else they run across that the new products are POS. Just because they got burned a few years ago doesn't mean the people that are buying them today are getting burned. And the people that are saying the negative comments have never owned one of the new ones? I can't explain it.

My reading comprehension is fine. I read on this site and many others that everyone that owns a gen. 4 IOR is pleased with them. I have not seen one negative review. Every shooting magazine that has reviewed them has only been positive. There is about 12-13 people that has responded to this very thread that have all responded with a positive comments. The only negative things I read is from people that don't own them. Why would I or anyone else listen to someone about a scope that they have never owned? not to mention the fact that why would someone comment on a scope they have never owned?

Had one, it broke, I sold the replacement at a loss. The moment I took that thing out of the box it just didn't look right and I was almost not surprised when it broke. There is a review on in my variable power thread back on ARF. It's not a very well done review as I have come a long way since that time, but it is there nevertheless embarrassing both me and IOR. Does that help? You seemed to be looking for bad IOR experiences though I'm not sure how you can go very far on these forums without tripping on them.

Furthermore, I have also encountered Val wanting to specifically dictate the terms of a review. In my case he did not want his 1-10x along side any 1-8x scopes as he did not believe this would be a fair comparison given the differences in magnification. Giving manufacturers advance copy and allowing them the ability to respond to criticism as well as comment is not the same as allowing them to dictate the test procedures. No other maker has attempted to control the test procedures. I declined the conditional offer and that is why there was no IOR in the series of 1-8x and 1-6x reviews last year.

There you go Phillip, you bitched and moaned and threw stones and I sat here and let Frank fight it out for way too long because he is more qualified than me and more experienced with both the scopes and the people involved. Now you get to hear my experiences as well. They are fewer because I was in the position to make them that but they are nevertheless bad experiences.

While I know Ior definitely have had issues in the past, I do want to say they certainly are not shit. I've owned several, 4 to be exact, along with other scopes like nightforce and US Optics and all of them have performed as desired and been very good scopes. Just my useless 2 cents. I imagine if I had been burned I'd definitely be twice shy...

Phillip61, I don't see this is worth getting banned from this forum. This has turned into a pissing match and you have not helped the IOR Valdada image buy this going back and forth with a lot of people that have had a bad experince with the old IOR scopes. Back in November I bought the 4-28 Recon and am happy with it so far but the weather up here has not allowed much shooting. There has been a number of guy look through my scope and they all are impressed with the clarity of the lenses, how bright it is and all like the retical. Some wish their scope had the MP-8 Xtreme-x1 retical. So if IOR Valdada has finally got their act together and built a scope that can compare with the other higher end scopes let it REST and let their product speek for it self. Maybe if the product proves its self that some might give it a try but it will have to show that it is worthy of them trying them again.
