Iranian-backed militias just hit a US base in the region...

Well I mean our "allies" the Israelis just bombed an Iranian embassy in Syria the other day.
And our glorious troops are still invading Syria to help our corrupt "allies" in Turkey steal the Syrian's oil.
(after we funded some of the most evil people on the planet in their quest to destroy Syria which was one of the least repressive of the arab states, so our "allies" the English could get a cheap pipeline put in to piss off the Russians).

So I mean, all things being equal...
Don't expect everyone to love you...

That statement couldn’t be more wrong. We have people working in the north to purposely prevent Turkey from invading because we support the militants that Turkey is trying to wipe out.

US Firm Secures Oil Deal with US-Backed Forces in Syria

Turkey, which views Syrian Kurdish fighters as terrorists, also criticized the deal...“We deeply regret the U.S. support to this step, disregarding international law, violating territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty of Syria, as well as being considered within the scope of financing terrorism,” Turkey’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement Monday.

Iran, a staunch supporter of the Syrian government, described the deal as “a violation of Syrian sovereignty.”...“This is yet another step by [the US] to plunder Syria’s natural resources,” Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a statement Tuesday.

Depends what day it is and what we need.
We didn't seem to mind a year ago when Turkey kind of invaded a little bit.
Once Turkey does us some dark favour we'll be happy to let them wipe out the folks they want to wipe out.
We've got history on that going back decades.

They are in Turkeys way, not ours.
Our alliance with the kurds goes back to the cold war.
That as well as they let us get the oil we want from the land they hold. We would fully support them taking over Sriya if that would be possible.
We support them in Iraq and in Sriya, and is part of the reason why we are so hard on Turkey with what weapons we sell them.

It's complex.

We are very hard on Turkey but if we go to hard they will leave NATO and we can't have that.
We kicked them out of the F35 program after they were one of the first countries to support it, that is how tough we are with Turkey.

And in the end the Kurds are a good excuse to steal oil from countries on the excuse of "the kurds" for a cut rate price for our buddies while paying a couple top corrupt folks of the kurds a bunch of extra money.
