I finally finished this rifle. I started with the new IRA receiver and bought a DPMS upper. I had hell getting a bolt carrier group together. And the carrier I have is not what I want, but I digress. I ordered a barrel from Krieger chambered in 6.5 x 47 Lapua with the No turn neck reamer by Mr Kiff at Pacific tool. It is finished at 22 inches and threaded for my SWR omega. Got a Mag Pul stock and a tubular free float that needs some bipod studs and a rail for NV
I have test fired for function and it works.

Looks great. I had a very similar upper on mine initially as far as the gas block & FF tube. Put a low pro GB & a Daniel Defense Lite Rail on it and love it.

Nice rife!

I think they do to some degree. I have heard you have to full length size the fired brass. I have an adjustable gas block on order. I will try to tune my load to extract and eject without pulling too hard on the brass.

There are springs, buffers and weights you can buy to tune the rifle to where it won't be so hard on the brass. I run a Tubb Carrier Weight System on my AR15, and it improves lock time, it also took away the nasty little dent that I was getting without the weight system in the BCG.

Re: Iron Ridge Armory AR-10 build Completed.

I loaded 5 rounds to test fire today and another 45 to range test.
Get this, the fired case is shorter by 50 thou and the angle of the neck has changed. I won't say as much as an Ackley Improved but it is noticeable. I am going to call Kreiger next week and ask about that. I asked for the chamber to be cut with the no turn neck reamer Kiff makes at Pacific tool. I wonder. I may try to post a picture later.

+1 for the Tubb carrier weight system and also his flatwire recoil spring. Adding both of those made a huge difference in the way my rifle recoils and it now piles brass up in a neat little pile about 2' out at 2 o'clock.

Any chance you can post a close-up of the stock and lower?
I have an OD lower and was wondering how well the Magpul OD blends in. Looks good!
