Is HORNADY - 6.5mm 140gr ELD-M good choice for 6.5 creedmoor load?

Yes--the 140gr ELD-M is a quite popular bullet and cost effective. (#2 for those that don't want to clicky). The Hornady stuff seems to go through spurts, they were out until just this weekend. I had a alert setup for back in stock.

As always--every rifle is different, but its a good start. Also Frank like to talk in the podcast about shooting "lighter" bullets with faster twist for rifles with a shorter barrel. The 130-140 range I believe is what he favors. Its in one of the more recent ones (apologies for not remembering off hand 80/40/20 rule in play so please double check and confirm).

If you can find them, yes. They are quite outstanding and not too expensive. You can also try the 140 HPBT, even cheaper and gives me better groups than the ELD-M. (The HPBT is in the American Gunner ammo, which shoots much better in my rifle than the Hornady Match 140 ELD-M, and is much cheaper)
If you can't find the Hornady bullets, give Berger a try, such as the 140 VLD Target.

Factory Tikka CTR 6.5
Factory 140 gr ELDM.
The bullets are g2g and you can squeeze more speed out of them if you handload.
Believe most people are liking h4350

I have had great success with the Hornady 140’s in a couple 6.5 CMs. The stock answer to powder is H4350 but that is often hard to find. I have also used Varget, RL17 and Winchester 760. RL 17 and W760 were pleasant surprises. All the best and let us know how it works.

140 ELDM’s are the 1st projectile I tried in my savage 12LRP that I shoot matches with. It shoots one ragged hole with 41.4 gr of H4150 so I never looked back.

I’ve gotten many 1st round impacts at 1000-1200 so I’d say absolutely it’s a good option.

You can always go down a rabbit hole and chase perfection but I’ve stuck with the 140 ELDM’s and have been happy.

Yes, ELDM an above average choice in 6.5. Pair with H4350.

This is my setup as well, I started by shooting some factory Hornady ammo through my new rifle from 120ish grain through 147 and the 140's were awesome right out of the box... so we reloaded with H4350 + 140 ELDM's and it has worked out great. Shooting the factory rounds helped me narrow it down to start out with which was pretty awesome.

No! don't use it! All the people using this bullet in 6.5 Creedmoor make it impossible to find for my 260😂
This^^^🤣🤣🤣

Seriously, I shoot them in a Tikka T3X CTR on top of 41.7gns of H4350 and its lights out! I also shoot them in my custom 260 with same maybe slightly even better results.

I have 3 6.5 Creedmoor's and all can shoot either 140 ELD-M's or the 147's with equal precision, it is your loading and the work up which will tell you what your barrel prefers. Looking at the down range advantages, you have to be shooting past 1,100 yards or so to have the 147's give an edge to you.
